I just ate a toasted & buttered cinnamon raisin English muffin, and a banana.

That actually sounds very tasty!

Well the new 4K streaming box is humming along.

Although I haven't yet watched anything in 4K.....but I shall fix that in a bit.

There are several 4K stations that I can try. Right now I am watching a replay of this morning's AO Men's Tennis Championship.

Of course when I thought I lost my phone charger this morning, I somehow unplugged the tv in the computer room.

So many wires and outlets for so many electronics.....I shall probably wait until tomorrow before I tackle that job.

Happy Sunday to one and all... and Happy Birthday to me!  Yes, it's my birthday today and I am welcoming back Richard Skipper on the Broadway Radio Show. He'll be performing at Revolution Stage Company in Palm Springs on Feb 11th and again at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in NYC on Feb 27th.  Richard is a big Jerry Herman fan (and an expert on Hello, Dolly!) so I gave him the task of picking the best show tune from each of Jerry's musicals!  Give it a listen...

I'm up, I'm up - five hours of sleep. Not enough. I'm not going to futz and finesse until I get home after supping. I ended up writing three or four pages for later in the book, just because stuff came to me and I didn't want to forget about it.

Some days life really sucks. Last night, I opened the new issue of Gramophone to read the obituary of my friend John Wallace, one of the great classical trumpet players. We met at Abbey Road studios in June 2001, when John McGlinn was recording Babes in Toyland. The last time I saw John was maybe around 2010 or so, when he was in New York for a Scottish event, and I was his date for something, I cannot now remember what. I think by then he was running the Scottish Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in Edinburgh.

Then, just now, I logged onto Facebook to see the obituary of my friend Paul Hollenbeck, father of my goddaughter Emily, and husband of my friend Pam, wgo died in 2018. Pam and I were grad assistants in the theater dept. while Paul was finishing his degree in architecture.

Good morning to all. I don’t know if I should complain but it’s 35 degrees Fahrenheit in south Florida as I write this. I haven’t experienced this temperature in over thirty years!

I remember going to Disney World with the kids.  There was a long heat wave when we arrived.  Fortunatley we did the water activities and Epcot Center before we went to Disney World.  It was 25 degrees at Disney World and we had to buy sweatshirts.

The only avatars I can see are JRand, Freddie, and Jane. Mine has disappeared. I looked in the profile part to re-add my picture, and there are no choices in the gallery. I know it will be fixed. We just need to be patient. I'm just glad this site is working.

This is the first time I have not been able to see an avatar.

Correct. Hack came back - they have to complete the updates on this board before all that can stop. You have NO idea how frustrating this is.

I complained about Ann Pachett’s Run last night. Today there was a passage of pure, unmitigated joy that was totally brilliant. A young girl is given the chance to go running on a Harvard track, and she does so in a moment of exhilaration that made everything right in the world.
