Well, dear readers, I’m back home for our Saturday night show and I’m here to tell the tale. There were fifty-three people on the books, but by the time the show began there were closer to seventy in the theater. Usually, Saturday nights are quiet, reaction-wise – never really understood that, but we got some laughs (especially from the front audience right side), and despite too much fumfering in act two, they were with the play from start to finish. I knew a few people in the audience, so I stayed to the end. I came right home, ordered some Jack in the Box for snacks, wrote two new pages, ate the snacks and took pill three, and now it’s time for some notes. Prior to the evening’s things, I got eight hours of sleep, got up at noon, food I’d pre-ordered was already here but thankfully still hot – pappardelle with sausage – that was good. Then I futzed and finessed the previous couple of days’ writings, then wrote a couple of new pages. I dozed off for two hours, wrote another page, which brings me into a somewhat tricky sequence, although I know in my head at least the structure of it and I know how I’m handling some of it. I showered and got ready, then moseyed on over to the theater. The previous journey to the theater and drive home was ridiculous – hitting every single red light there was – twenty minutes to get there. But last night, I hit every green light there was and I made it to the theater in nine minutes. Anyway, it wasn’t a bad day as Saturdays go – I did want to write more, but I will try for another two or three pages for bed.
Today, I’ll be up by ten or thereabouts, I’ll futz and finesse, then go to the theater for our matinee and talkback. After the talkback, I’ll go out for a nice meal at some nearby eatery. Then it’s home and writing at least five or six pages.
Tomorrow and all this week will be writing every day and evening, getting Muse Margaret a new batch of pages, maybe a meeting or two, then we begin week three’s performances. I definitely will not be attending all of those, but will attend on February 2 because the Pearls asked me to. I can’t believe we’re five days away from February – wacky. This month is flying by, like a gazelle in a Carnaby cap with a shag haircut. Oh, and hopefully tomorrow will be the day when we’re finally, after years, being moved to a new server with much stronger security. So, the warning is that for two hours the discussion board will be down. Right now, that’s scheduled from four to six but could happen earlier.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by ten or thereabouts, futz and finesse, attend the matinee and talkback, eat, come home, write new pages, and then maybe even watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s free-for-all day, the day in which you dear readers get to make with the topics and we all get to post about them. So, let’s have loads of lovely topics and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping to have a really productive upcoming week.
