THE FIX IS IN

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, proofer one got me his fixes and they’ve been entered – I only had about twelve things to run by Muse Margaret, we made decisions on those, and so proofer one part one is done. He had very nice things to say about the book. He found stuff I never would have found when I proof, which is great. So, now we wait for proofer two’s fixes. Once I have those and they’re entered, then we all do one more proofing, then it goes to the designers. I have to decide on blurbers for this one. That, in fact, was most of my day yesterday, that and a LOT of telephonic conversations. I did finally get eight hours of consecutive sleep save for some visits to the ool to eep. Once up, I began entering fixes, I had a nice telephonic conversation with proofer one, then I continued entering fixes, then did an phoner with an author doing a book on Doris Day and that was fun, then I had a small pizza, then went back to entering fixes until I finished. I took a little break, then did the Muse Margaret session, and that was that for proofer one’s fixed fixes. In other words, the fix was in. After that, I brought in an Amazon same day delivery, had some cheese and crackers for a snack, and then I didn’t think I’d get through a motion picture without snoozing, so instead I watched some YouTube DUI videos – some of the entitled young people, drunk as skunks and lying about how much they’d had to drink and then throwing tantrums and acting like three-year-olds with the most patient cops you’ll ever see, are truly mind-boggling. I think I’ve now seen enough of those, and they aren’t nearly as much fun as high-speed car chases and PIT maneuvers. I really do want to catch up on my movie watching and perhaps tonight will be the night. Now playing: The Kurt Weill Album and the music from The Seven Deadly Sins, pure Weill. His two symphonies, which make up the rest of the album, are worlds apart from the Weill of theater music.

Today, I’ll be up by eleven at the latest, I have to ship a little package but can’t until the packing material arrives here, once I’ve done that, I’ll put gas in the motor car, go to CVS for Claritin-D and a vaccination, then I may go sit somewhere and have a nice meal, then I’ll come home and do whatever needs doing, and then at some point I’ll watch, listen, and relax.

Tomorrow and Thursday will be days of rest, Friday we begin week five of performances, and we’ll put in the three little changes we’re making, and I’m not sure how many shows I’ll attend but certainly I’ll be there Friday night to see how the changes work. I’m sure there will be a meal out at some point towards the end of the week, to celebrate finishing the book, and I’m hoping dear reader Jeanne is up for seeing one of the final matinees of the play.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eleven at the latest, ship a package, gas up the motor car, buy Claritin-D and have a vaccination, eat, do whatever needs doing, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite kinds of cookies? Which did you love as a kid, then as an adult and which have you made yourselves? My most-missed cookies are both things I was obsessed with in the 1970s – Flaky Flix and Cherry Newtons. I could go through an entire package in one sitting. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy that the fix is in with proofer one.
