Thanks. I thought it was spreading and am glad it is out. In the middle of this crazyness it seems shocking that the fire began inside the house where fires usually begin.

If they didn't have power a faulty generator could have started the fire.

Fortunately I've never had to evacuate because I was in danger, but I did have to relocate ( temporarily) twice when I was living in a basement apartment.

Once because of Hurricane Gloria which left us without power for a week and the other because of a burst pipe
That left 6inches of water everywhere.

I have never had to evacuate. I have worked in Red Cross Shelters for people who did.
