Congratulations to DRJMK for winning the Trivia Contest this week.

It will be more fun when I don't have to spend 24 hours a day learning everyone's lines!

I don't even remember any kids being bullied.

And here we go to school K-6 and 7-11.

I'm up, I'm up.  I was bullied, and I wrote about it extensively in the Kritzer books.  And, of course, there was retribution, oh, yes, there was retribution.

And DR Stuart--your next post will be the address number of our house in Camden, NJ--1118 Jackson Street.  Isn't that exciting?

My, my, DR DtM.....with all the attention you pay to numbers, one might assume that size IS everything to you!  ;)

Speaking of community theatre land, tonight is the first night of auditions for the FIDDLER that the DP will be directing.  I will be assisting him when my schedule allows.

If everyone who we hope will show up shows up over the two nights of auditions, and barring any complications from the choreographer or musical director, then this Fiddler should have a very nice cast.  Except for Tevye.  There is no Tevye in then gang of usual suspects.  But we have both heard that there will be some people coming out of the woodwork for this...so we are keeping our fingers crossed.

And it's not a case of pre-casting....it's just that we ahve been able to ruminate about a cast -- a very good cast -- from those who usually participate.

Oh, and confidential to DR MattH (aside from wishing you a belated Happy Birthday):  Your inamorata, John Bolton stopped by last night for a visit.  He was pleased to hear he had fans.  Out there.  In the dark.

Oh, the Vixter gets bullied. She is an "odd duck" in the school... she doesn't play video games, doesn't even own one... she enjoys Science Fiction, Broadway Musicals, reading EVERYTHING (except horror), she doesn't use the computer except for homework research, she doesn't watch MTV, or Fear Factor or any other  reality shows, she has no wish to hang out in the mall , she wants to PLAY with dolls, in the pool, on the swings.....she should have been born 50 years earlier.....

Has vixter read Benjamin Kritzer???

DR Vixmom, sorry about the bullying.  Hopefully it's not too severe.  I really can't believe that parents don't teach their kids to be kind to others. Really disgusting.

The parents of the children who bully tend to be worse than the children.

Just called the pressing plant and have been told that they're "almost finished" - if that's true, that's excellent and I shall head over there shortly.

I was thinking that when you posted about it, but I thought it would be forward of me to ask for a copy, but if you're offering..... ;)

Not yet.  I am not sure what she would make of the "underpants interest" she is at a rather "puritanical" stage at her life.  She  is constantly reminding Vixdad in shocked tones that "there is a child present" when he engages in such unseemly behavior as kissing me hello or goodbye. ;D

I think she'd like it - I think she'd empathize with young Benjamin.  The underpants incident is minor (in the BOOK).  I'll send you the lyrics to the song as a PM and you can share it with her.

DR Stuart, there are a few people on this site that would take great offense to the above statement.

The parents of the children who bully tend to be worse than the children.

True.   A  few years ago, when the Vixter  was about 7 ,  I was sitting with the other moms in the waiting room during one of her dance classes.  Some of them were complaining about how difficult it was to get their kids to go to sleep at night or get ready for school in the morning because of watching TV or playing video games.  They asked how I handled it.  I said she had to go to bed at 8  and that she went and that was the end of it.  But how, they wanted to know, did I keep her from watching HER TV all night? I explained she didn't have her own TV, or video games, or gameboy.  They all looked at me like I said I had apprenticed her to a chimney sweep.  Well how did you get away with that?! They wanted to know.  I explained that 1) We were the parents and the paycheck earners therefore  we were the ones who got to make the decisions about how the money was spent and 2) She had never asked for any of those items.

These were alien concepts to these women .

Complications from a choreographer?  How could that be?

GOOD VIBES for your Tevye, DR STUART.  It's good to know the talent pool, then you can relax a bit....but a surprise or two at auditions is always nice.  And shows like FIDDLER do bring people out that normally wouldn't audition for other shows.  Tevye is out there.  JUST MAKE SURE HE CAN GROW A BEARD!  Unless you have a professional makeup artist, those false ones are VERY difficult to pull off....so to speak.

DRMBARNUM - Dorothy Green was also in The Restless Years with Mr John Saxon and the late Sandra Dee .

That is correct, and we couldn't remember who she played in that movie...she seemed to recall playing a drunk but didn't know if it was that movie or not.
