It's too bad SOME of the Sondheim stuff couldn't have been kept together to create a museum or some permanent display, but I guess it's all about the almighty dollar.

I suspect the things going to the Library of Congress were settled before the things to be auctioned went to Doyles.

When I finally had a ride for the test the doctor said that I waited too long and opted not to do the MRI.

Why?

I couldn't get a ride as we were new to the area and I didn't have friends yet and Keith was working hard at a new job.  I wanted drugs to go into an MRI machine and would have needed Keith to drive me.

As for the doctor taking away the order, likely because I was beginning to improve with PT.

Oh, then that's a GOOD thing that he'd taken away the order!

Maybe though I would like to have know if it was more than just a pinched nerve.  It still occassionally bothers me but nothing like when I first pinched it.

I tend to forget that new books will be released at 9:00pm on the West Coast.

I was very pleased to see the new book, that I was first in the eBook library queue, became available last night instead of today.

OH. MY. GOD.

I'm watching the bidding now. Just came in at:

GYPSY vocal score, (the paperbound) inscribed to SS by Jule Styne, estimated $800-$1200, sold for $11,000.

But I know someone who won something:  Lot 235, pair of Victorian armchairs, estimated at $500-$700, won for $900 - and he and a buddy are splitting it and taking one each.

I’m supposed to have my MRI tomorrow. I just got the paperwork that it has not been approved. The doctor is supposed to call the insurance company and there’s a possibility it could be covered, but I don’t hold out hope that the doctor’s office will work that quickly.

Well, the folks there are certainly having a good time. There's plenty of appreciative laughter during the bidding.

Insane. How can things like this not have been approved already? Rhetorical question, no need to come up with an answer.

Darn! This is why I thought your appointment was rather fast.  When I had my last MRI, though it wasn't urgent, they allowed more time for the approval notice.

I hope the office received the notification electronically vs snail mail and resubmited the request.

DR John have you reached the doctor's office yet?

This Sondheim auction is beyond belief. Everything, no matter how trivial or stupid, is going for thousands of dollars. Some ninny paid 35K for the gold record of West Side Story's soundtrack - high estimate was 1500, which is about right. 35K PLUS buyer's premium and tax. That is some kind of stupid. Where people get this kind of money is anyone's guess. Signed musical quote went for 25K - do you know how many Sondheim musical quotes I've had for various silent auctions? They all sold at great prices, the most expensive of which was about 4K.

Wow!  Makes you wonder how much Richard Sherman musical quotes or memorabilia  would go for, maybe for charity or to carry on his work.  That has to be an even bigger fan base.
