Tom Kitt and Amanda Green are responsible for the bad opening number.

Ugh. The lowest point of the evening was at the beginning.

Well I fell asleep and I woke up to find Hillary Clinton on my tv screen....it was not pleasant or appreciated.....then I fell asleep again and woke up at 7:15 a.m.

Had you rather it had been Melania Trump?  Or even "the Donald"?

On my return from the doctor this morning, I stopped at a nearby garage to inquire about getting my car road-checked for my trip.

They took me then and there.  The bad news: I need a new passenger-side axle something-or-other.  The good news:  It won't be a break-the-bank issue.

The other good news is that my car is running one hundred percent better, and my tires have checked out as sound and ready for the trip.

My doctor was, indeed, surprised and pleased about my hearing aids which are identical to his and about my being on Dupixent.  He wants me to have my CPAP upgraded, and that should be okay because the one I have is 10 years old.

As predicted, I've fast-forwarded through my DVR'ed telecast, and it's now deleted.

Good Lord, that opening number. Beyond belief terrible. And it barely sounded or looked like, you know, anything "Broadway". After DeBose's opening monologue, which I shouldn't even have subjected myself to, I pretty much FF'ed through the whole 3+ hours, only stopping to view anything pertaining to Merrily again, and just a couple of other moments. This time I saw Ted Chapin sitting a little bit behind Jonathan Groff and looking quite excited at his just-announced win.

I might have skipped over something, but did anyone ever give a nod to the orchestra, and state just where in the almighty f*ck they might have been? Were we not in a theeder with an opera-sized pit? Ha! I joke. But I do remember years ago when you'd be able to see at least the conductor at awards shows, both in NY and LA.

It's hell getting older.

But happily retirement allows me to pace myself and to make up for the forgotten or overlooked things.

I'm now off to the Washington Center's Volunteer Appreciation night.  We'll have food and chat with each other, and then find out what next season will be!  That's always the best part. :)

Had a nice dinner at a Mediterranean spot. Fish with fried garlic, Basmati rice with lentils, a cucumber salad and tzatziki.
