Yesterday's orchestra rehearsal went really well. By the time it ended, I was mentally fried and very hungry, so I ordered a turkey club sandwich from the Amsterdam Deli. It was here by 7:20, and I ate half of the sandwich. I'll have the rest today. I watched MSNBC before I Went to bed.

Since I was up around 5:30 the past two mornings, I thopught I'd sleep in and set the alarm for 6:40. Except I forgot to turn off ther 5:20 alarm. Oy!

Kitty cleanup will be a little more detailed this morning, since three cats had two days to play while I was out.

Am up early this morning.  I have a 9 a.m. telephonic medical appointment.

It's a consultation.  I asked my doctor about the possibility of getting injectable insulin pens for my daily dosages, but he said those were only prescribed for people who had impairments that made giving themselves daily shots difficult.

My concern is where else to inject myself.  You have to find a different location for each shot.  Once you do it daily for eight years, you run out of territory that easily accepts a fine point needle.  That's right!  It's not easy doing injections on sites you've previously used even if it was a month or more ago.  Sub-cutaneous scarring or something makes the skin more resistant to penetration.

My doctor isn't a specialist, and the doctor calling me at 9 this morning is.  He will give me some ideas on where else to "amuse" myself.  The recommended site has been around my navel and outward over time.  As time has grown, my outward expansion has not.

Vibes to Ron for finding a solution to the shot dilemma

So...the phone rang at 8:37 a.m.  It was the doctor being an early bird.

We talked, we discussed and we came to a solution.  He has "determined" that since I wear glasses and live alone I qualify for the injectable insulin pen. 

Hallelujah.  His first recommendations to me were to use my upper thigh, the back of my arms and/or my buttocks.  While I could do the latter, the back of the arms would be a bit awkward. 

The injectable pen will work in all locations with me simply pressing a button (or something akin to a button).

On a different note, the theater department of my college (now a university) -- Mars Hill University, Mars Hill, NC, 19 miles north of Asheville, NC -- has decided to have a reunion of all theater majors in the school's history (those of us who have survived, that is).

It will be in September, will include a tour of all the theater facilities, a tour of the campus, a dinner, a performance of a play, etc.  It will be conducted over two days.  They are in the process of getting a group rate at local hotels (my vote is for the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, but it won't happen).

I plan on going.  Too many folks I knew and did plays with are now gone, my roommate included.  So many ghosts.

Most will be folks who never heard of the Class of 1970, but we will be represented!!

I enjoyed Wordle for a long time, but I have discovered that life is just as sweet without it.
