DR singdaw M@7 opens on Thursday.  The cast has had THREE days to review their lines...so I'm hoping to see some improvement tomorrow....but I fear it is what it is.

Later in the week, though.

Finishing up a Chinatown version of Pride and Prejudice called Good Fortune. It’s been okay, but also somewhat sloppily written.

My older brother Mike and his wife Faith will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on October 13.

I'm going to buy Faith a nice new set of cookware and buy my brother a few new books since he loves to read......

AND I have a 20% off one item coupon at OLLIE'S that expires on Thursday, so I will be able to get an even NICER set of cookware....I'll probably go over there tomorrow.

Happy Sunday to one and all.  The new Broadway Radio Show is a great conversation with award winning singer & cabaret star Jeff Harnar about his new album A Collective Cy, a wonderful collection of songs by Cy Coleman.  Lots of great songs and some wonderful stories (make sure to check out the ones about Lauren Bacall and Dorothy Fields!)

Five hours ago, I got back into my bed, hoping for a few more restful hours of sleep like I did yesterday.

But...wonky dreams, they have returned.

Only two are worth repeating, but they were very varied.

The last one was the one that got me out of my bed.  I dreamed I had asked Alexa what time it was.  She said it was 3:34 p.m.  I jumped up and told Alexa to stop playing the rain sounds I usually fall asleep to.  When she did that, CD player began playing. Again I said stop, and lights began going on and off.  I realized she had lost her mind and I was going to have to shut everything off manually.  While I was doing that, I heard a squeaking noise coming from the next room...my den.

I opened my door to the den and I had been robbed.  Cleaned out.  Except...all my nice chairs and sofas had been replaced by wooden chairs and benches, with pillows neatly placed upon them.  My bookshelves were empty of my favorite books.  And, yes, they took my 55-inch tv, computers and stereo system, but they replaced them with side tables and cheap lamps,  A plain rug filled the floor, and my nice pictures had been replaced on the walls with gaudy prints I would never in a million years buy for myself.

Strangest thing of all was that just before I awakened and realized it was yet another wonky dream I gasped, "Gosh!  This room is so much bigger than I thought."

The other dream I have was a bit of a sweet one.

I was sitting on a sofa in my den, having coffee.

A voice behind me, my mom's, asked me if I had eaten anything with my meds.
She put her hand on the back on the sofa next to me, and I put my hand on hers and said "Yes."

She asked me if I knew what had happened to the funds.

??  Funds?  What funds?  "The funds that are paying for Trump's legal defenses."

While trying to understand why she would care, I heard a slight slump.  Although I was still holding her hand, I turned and realized she must be on the floor.

I awakened and smiled because she reached out to me from beynod.

Donald, do you have any biographical info on a singer named Nathaniel Hackmann?  I found a YouTube video, vocals badly synched to audio, of a 2017 BBC Proms presentation of "Oklahoma", fully cast, conducted by John Wilson with original Broadway orchestrations.  It appears to be someone's in-theater recording of a performance.

Hackmann is Curly and Sierrra Boggess is Laurie.  Their voices are glorious.  (I have a Civic Center recording of "Paint Your Wagon" on which Hackmann sings "They Call the Wind Maria.") Robbie Fairchild is Will Parker and he's truly wonderful in that role.  I have heard Boggess in other BBC Proms events, and she has a glorious soprano. I have Googled for background info on Hackmann (training, shows, etc.) but have come up with very little.

Amazon will soon be shipping the Chandos recording of the BBC "Oklahoma".   To my knowledge, the video isn't scheduled.  But it's on YouTube.

I did, on the spur of the moment yesterday, throw together a key lime pie which has chilled in the fridge overnight. They are SO delicious, and SO easy to prepare. I confess to cheating by using a store-bought pie crust, but I'll plan on making my own next time.

I’ll take your recipe, if you’ll share. Please and thank you.

The variations found in recipes is ridiculous.
Here's what I'm happy with as it stands now:

9" graham cracker pie crust (buy it or make your own).
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk.
2/3 cup key lime juice (Nellie & Joe's is very popular) -OR- 2/3 cup plain old regular lime juice -OR- a combo, it's all good. If you want it more tart, increase the quantity next time.
3 egg yolks.

I used a large whisk and elbow grease, but electric mixer is the easy way to go:

Separate and beat the egg yolks, then blend into the condensed milk. Last, blend in the lime juice.
Pour into the pie shell. Bake at 325 for 20 minutes, give or take. There'll still be some jiggle; it sets as it chills.
Allow to cool, then refrigerate for several hours.

Serve with whipped cream. (Or meringue, if you must.)

The 9" crust will actually take a little more filling. I just popped open the one can of milk this time, so it sits slightly lower than I'd like. You can use more of the milk and lime juice, but those 3 egg yolks will still be plenty. In fact, I'm going to try just 2 egg yolks next time. (The recipes call for 2 to 4, 3 being the average).

This one reminds me of the lemon pie recipe on cans of condensed milk. My favorite pie of all time.  And the key lime substitute is just right.

I do fully understand the dreams are directly related to the drugs I am taking for the viral and sinus infections.   I can happily report that my breathing is improving daily.

As for my left ear -- there is some progress, I think.  When I am listening to TV or something audio on on the computer, I get indications in my left ear that what I hear clearly in my right ear seems to be echoing out my left ear in little bursts.  If I had a tuner, I could likely get it right. So my head seems to be trying to auto-tune my left ear.

Congrats on the improved breathing and hearing, Ron!  And those are some pretty strange dreams!

DR Ron Pulliam, his name is Nathaniel (Nate) Hackmann. He's a friend. He was in the Encores! production and recording of Paint Your Wagon, singing They Call the wind Maria." John Wilson asked me about him when he was casting the Oklahoma! He was also Gabey in John's Proms production of On the Town. He's currently on Broadwy in Back to the Future, and he just recorded Curley and Billy Bigelow for John Wilson's complete recordings of Oklahoma! and Carousel.
