I am stuck on Band-Aids
But that's what we've got from Madison Avenue.

Actually, Barry Manilow by way of Madison Avenue.  He wrote that jingle!

We got to see it in London about a month before it closed its 18-year run.

I am "off the hook", as it were, regarding a visit from an old friend early next week.  I begged off, explained why, and he took it very well, insisting that the next visit he makes (in roughly six months) we can either meet up somewhere for a few hours or he can visit if it's all right.

I am so relieved.

Good news

CostCo has this habit of making it a required two-container purchase, but they don't combine the (six-muffin) containers.

I don't want a dozen muffins, and I don't want to freeze any for later.

Sam's Club has no restrictions, so I'll get my muffins next week.

How many muffins with be in the package from Sam's Club?

Six, as well.

One of my buys at CostCo was a package of mini Belgian waffle bites.

I have seen TV ads for them and thought, "Meh!"  I love Belgian waffles, hot, dripping with butter and syrup.  On the ads, a lady is just eating one out of a wrapper - not hot, not dripping.

Let me tell you:  I had two after unloading my car, and they are DELICIOUS.  I had a third for dessert after supper.

Just finished Lorrie Moore’s I Am Homeless if This Is Not My Home. One of the best books I’ve read this year. Dynamite.

I may as well fess up before the day ends!

I had a dream last night that remains quite vivid, probably because it was a bit disturbing, although I do not feel I would handle it any differently.

My front doorbell rings one morning. The sun is streaming in and I can barely see a man standing on my porch with a box in his hand.  "Delivery", he exclaims.  I asked if I needed to sign for it.  He said no, and he then took a big plastic container of pretzels out of the box and handed it to me.

At that moment, he made a step to enter my door, but I blocked him, said thanks, and closed the door.

I had no idea why anyone would send me pretzels nor am I likely to order any.

From curiousity, I looked out a window and saw a pickup truck.  The delivery man walked toward it.  It was being driven by a young thuggish looking guy.  They exchanged words, the young guy looked angry and began driving the truck forward and backward in my driveway.

I took my cell phone to call the police.  Then I woke up.  I reminded myself that I have a pistol and a couple of shotguns (neither of which I have ever used) in the event either man tried to get in.

It unnerved me, though.

So true DR GEORGE.....only one real choice.....but it's sad.

I dunno.  Old Joe has done quite a bit for the country.

And we haven't been beset and besieged with daily lunacy from his office and his press secretary and Old Joe doesn't have the hag equivalent of Kellyanne Conway!!!

SO MUCH BETTER FOR US!!!

I spent the afternoon battling the invasive wild blackberries on the back edge of my property. Actually just trying to stop the ones from the adjoining property from reaching over the ditch and consuming our property. While doing so, I found a healthy fig tree that had been utterly covered by these demonic blackberry vines. Their thorns are so tricky. I pulled on a vine I thought I’d cut and it snapped back in my face, luckily only gashed the end of my nose. Really need a Kevlar suit for this job.

I've seen it 3 times in Bochum, Germany.   So much fun!

Well, our preview tonight was very well received.  It was nice to have an audience.  There were laughs where there should be laughs, gasps where there should be gasps and banjo entrances that were almost right.  We open tomorrow.  It was a fun evening.  It's nice to be able to let it go and have fun playing a show, but always trying to keep an edge.
