We had to leave the ship and return after going through immigration as we are leaving Japan tomorrow.

This morning we went to ground zero, the atomic bomb museum, and the Peace Memorial in Nagasaki.

I is hard to imagine Kyoto was on the list of possible cities to bomb.

While Nagasaki was on the list it was not the original first choice.

Low clouds prevented the bomb being dropped elsewhere.

Nagasaki too had low clouds. Just as the plane was about to abort the mission the clouds parted and the bomb was dropped

I slept rather well. I had two gabapenten tablets left, so I took them both thinking, if it kills me. too bad. Well, they clearly did not, and here I am.

This morning I will travel via Access-a-Ride to my new accountant - the jury is still out on this - to finish my taxes. The one drawback is that it's a rainy day today, and I would rather not step out.

The physical therapist gave me something to wear with the splint. But it’s causing too much pain while I try to sleep.
