So, last night was our poorly attended show, which we had already known was happening because two neighboring theeders were having their ferkakte opening nights for two other plays last night which stretched all the audiences. Our small audience was actually very good and receptive, but fate had to intervene, regardless, by not allowing the computer with the lighting program to boot up.
It finally did, but it was not running really well, and a couple of weird things happened during the first act. They were able to pull up "most of" the lighting design from a backup drive, but the computer itself continued giving them problems and pretty much gave up the ghost at intermission. The entirety of the second act was played in two (maybe three?) sets of lighting that could be changed manually, and to make matters even more disconcerting for all, there were a few lights over the audience that couldn't even be turned off. It was pure insanity, but by god we still gave them the show and it wasn't bad at all.
