If you speak up with concerns you usually can get in sooner.  I learned that years ago with the dermatologist, just suggest the c word and I would get in super fast.  I could only go for the suspicious spot which was ok.

I just read a recap of season one of Star Trek: Picard.  Season two begins tonight.  Since the last episode that aired was in in March 20, 2020 I figured it was best to refresh my memory.

I've just been informed that I've been admitted to the Rancho Gordo heirloom bean club. I've been on the waiting list for about a year.

Sing, I had no idea you were interested in heirloom beans. Nor that there's an heirloom bean club.

Jane, that only works when you're talking to humans -- and humans that will try to be helpful. I usually schedule online. No provision in the software for special concerns. Once, when the website wouldn't let me schedule, I tried phoning. An automated voice told me that there were 56 calls ahead of me! I went back to the website and found a workaround.

Well the sun is in sextile to Uranus so those things are bound to happen today.

I am always antsy when such a thing happens.

Is this the longest afternoon on record? It seems like two hours go by every 15 minutes.

I avoided the day's longevity by doing things I am not used to doing.

First, it has been a gorgeous day.  Down here, some pronounce gorgeous as "gawjus".

Second, I had a nice mail pickup at the post office getting packages I expected to get much later than today.

Third, I decided to take a walk, and I went to the town park, such as it is, and walked the quarter-mile track.  I have to remind you that walking has been a challenge lately, what with my back being a bit unsettled, but the chiropractor told me walking would be good.  The track was nicely paved, but had its ups and downs, meaning there was strain on my leg muscles as I ascended some of the ups.  When I was done, I was done.  Did not wish to tempt fates by going another quarter-mile on my first try.

Fourth, I decided that I needed to get some grocery items and drove over to KJ's market where the  Bi-Lo use to be in Edgefield.  I walked through that market and down every aisle and picked up an assortment of goodies (both nutritious and non).

Fifth, I was hungry and drove to Subway (in same area as KJs) and got myself a foot-long sub.  It was both my lunch and my supper.

It was, all in all, a nice day for me.

My Ask BK Question:

What is this turntable that you use for digitizing your LPs that is better than the old USB phonographs?

Brand and model, please.

Not really, except for the Sondheim line that the end justifies the beans.

They've laughed a few times, but I'm sure that when there are more audience members, there will be more laughter.

I'm starting season five of Riverdale and realized I missed seasons three and four. Oh well. They did Heathers and Hedwig during those seasons. But the main cast members are still alive, so I guess they didn't die.

That's good to read, George.

I know!  I was able to speak with a friend who's here watching the show and she's really enjoying it...her friends in the cast, the over-the-top acting and ridiculousness of it all more than the actual script.
