I had an appointment this afternoon at 3 p.m. with a chiropractor. The same one that my cousins Debra and Butch use.

He was very thorough, took X-rays, showed me images of my spine includng a small area of compression at the base that was causing me pain. He made a couple of adjustments and then used a machine on me to stimulate areas of my back.

The result was very pleasing. I still have twinges, but I can move with ease -- upright, as it were -- and can stand and sit without pain.

I have a follow-up session Wednesday. It feels so much better to be me this evening than it has in past days.

Today was truly the worst, pain-wise. I blame yesterday's activities at the church and funeral home and all the standing and sitting that went on.

I am on the mend.

I am relieved for you. What was the machine he used?

He told me, but I don't remember. I think it was something that delivers blasts of air.

Are they the same dishes just rebranded or did they change the menu?

They look to be the same items, perhaps with slight variations. But dishes like goulash is eaten across Eastern Europe.

The one that sounds most wonderful to me is this dessert: Slovanian Cake (Bird’s Milk Cake), chocolate cake with layers of custard buttercream, chocolate ganache, blueberries, sour cream.

The restaurant, Jane, is Biga on the Banks.
