Gluten-intolerant people are always so pleased to find a treat for them. They don't ever seem to expect it.

At the beginning of the covid lockdown a woman began a group on Facebook called ROOM WITH A VIEW.  People around the world have shared photos looking out their windows.  Many of the photos include stories to go with the photos.  This extremely popular group avoids politics and the people are mostly kind to each other.

Currently many of the photos are from the Ukraine.  The outpouring of responses of good wishes for peace and for their safety is very moving, so many that not everyone can post a comment.

Guess who is 70 years old, although perpetually claims to be 13?

I think it is interesting that he has more than a resemblance to Howdy Doody.

I think I first learned about Howdy Doody from Happy Days.

The cats and I have lounged about watching the PBS cooking shows. I'm having some pasta, and then I will return to my lounging.

Speaking of pasta, does anyone here like an arrabbiata sauce? I didn't know about it till a couple of months ago when someone told me to get a jar and try it. Apparently the really great brand to get is Rao's, and the only one I found that day was Vesper Bros. But wow, what a great new experience in tomato sauces. It packs some heat from crushed red pepper, but it's not outrageously hot or overbearing (for my taste), and the flavor is absolutely incredible.

Not surprisingly, I've never heard of arrabbiata sauce.  I think I might have to look for it.

This evening we're celebrating Nathan's birthday. It's actually tomorrow, but the next two nights are hosed for all of us. (He and Kristi are the same age, 16 days apart. Both birthdays in February, both turning 51 this year.) And I have just been informed that we're doing takeout from Texas Roadhouse. That will be good.

A Very Happy Double Birthday to Kristi and Nathan!!

Wow, but I guess this is understandable considering your age.

Starman was wonderful, thanks largely to the two stars.

Started reading From Here to Eternity on vacation. Got about 100 pages into the 800. I wonder now when I'm going to find the time to finish it. Got a slew of stuff from the library to finish off.

How does it compare to the musical?

Having never read it I didn't realize From Here to Eternity was 800+ pages.

I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep, up at eleven. For something that was supposed to be a ME day, well, I haven't stopped yet. Dealing with charts, Dropbox, getting a new chart done for the latest of the two new songs, etc.

As I recall, the musical was only like 90 minutes long. Hardly the stuff of 800 pages.

Making a mistake here that I'm sure to regret when I get no sleep this week, but I'm starting the Andrew Davies version of Little Dorrit, which was always one of my favorite Dickens novels. It's something like 14 hours long.

If any dear reader likes his/her comedies with a little mysticism mixed in, I heartily recommend THREE WISHES with Mr. Patrick Swayze.  It is a lovely movie with a nice score.....and just a little bit extra to make you wonder.....

I like the book of From Here To Eternity.....it helps that I can sort of picture the characters as the actors from the movie.....

With a young Claire Foy?
