Well, you've read the notes, the notes were one, two, three, and now it is time for you to post until the one, two, three cows come home.

I've never seen One, Two, Three.  My library doesn't have it...not surprising, though.

I just read a little synopsis of One, Two, Three and I DID see part of it on TCM.  I (now) remember that my dad wanted me to make a DVD of it and I watched part of it.  I don't remember too much about it, but I do remember that Cagney's character worked for Coca-Cola, and that I enjoyed what I watched. :)

I didn't mention the ending of One, Two, Three - after all that went before, Wilder tops it all with an incredible and hilarious visual gag that's one of the biggest laughs in the film. And for something the pundits would like to say wasn't a hit, it played ten WEEKS at the Paramount before going wide.

I slept rather well, and I had a long dream about my Overture to Twelfth Night, of all things. Since its premiere in 2017, 47 years after I composed it, I've been thinking about revising it. There's much I like about it, but there are a couple of sections that I could have written better, and I think it's two short.

If anyone's interested, here's its 2017 performance, performed by the Southwest Ohio Philharmonic, a community orchestra, conducted by my friend Carmon DeLeone:

I very fondly remember seeing One, Two, Three on its opening night in January 1962 in Fort Lauderdale, at the tender age of twelve.

I think movies opened on Fridays there, and on this very pleasant Friday afternoon I was at a best friend's house, a somewhat unusual older house that was always a treat to visit. I think his mom was out that evening and his dad made us dinner. Then he said he had this new movie to take us to, which we thoroughly enjoyed even though my friend and I probably didn't catch half of what was great about it. It was certainly my introduction to James Cagney, and I remember the fast talking and the packed house (as always) at the wonderful Florida Theater downtown. His dad's explanation about the then-new Berlin Wall before the movie began was literally how I learned about that. A simple, but favorite memory.

OMG - ONE TWO THREE.

I first saw it on the ABC Sunday Night Movie.....and even with commercials - it was hilarious.....everybody watching - which eventually included everybody in the house was rolling on the floor.
My brother and I quoted the dialog for weeks afterwards....with "Put your pants on, Spartacus" being a particular favorite!

I could watch it again.....and again.

Movies that I saw in the theatre that really made me laugh....along with most of the audience include:

What's Up, Doc?

and, I am embarrassed to say, Porky's.

I remember the packed houses and audience reactions with -- quite literally -- as much fondness as I do the movies themselves.

OMG, yes - What's Up, Doc? - one of the greatest examples of this. Unbelievable. There's nothing even close to that kind of experience today.

Well, the laundry room is again a complete mess. The super hasn't emptied the garbage since Sunday, and you cannot get near the bins. It's outrageous that my cheap-ass landlord, A J Clarke, is doing nothing to resolve this issue. I know I'm not the only one complaining.

Yesterday the Dept of Defense let down animal rescuer Charlotte Maxwell-Jones and her organization Kabul Small Animal Rescue. She was at the airport when the Dept of Defense made a decision to ruen her and her caged cats away and - God knows why - released the dogs from their carriers. So, Charlotte remained in Kabul and her dogs are now running loose around the Kabul airport to be Taliban target practice.

DR Elmore, you have the second worst landlord in the city.

I'm sorry, but we must deny you the coveted first prize. A friend in the West Village has the winner. It's a fifth floor walkup one-bedroom that she's been in for easily thirty years or longer, and the landlord would do anything just short of murder (well... so far) to get the last few rent-stabilized tenants out of there. Their response to problems and complaints makes your company look like a model of efficiency and Christian charity.
