I think the hardest one for me to let go was The Little Orange Kitten, as I called her. I wouldn't name her. We had Joshie, Sasha, and Rex, and our house was just too small. I was fortunate that I had a contact at the shelter. She got adopted 15 minutes after they opened the day she went in.

Black dogs, too. I think it's partially because their features aren't as pronounced in the mugshot for the websites.

Twice we rescued black dogs.  The first one I found a home for, the second one we ended up keeping for 10 years.  Trying to find homes for them was difficult as people wanted them for yard guard dogs  >:(

The first one was a Great Dane mix pup.  We were going to San Diego, while I was pregnant with Bryan, the next day for a short vacation we had saved up for.  The pup took our vacation money and time.

The next one was Belle who followed us home when we lived in PA.  She was around seven years old and no one wanted her.  Since the family loved her, and she was my shadow, we had no choice but to keep her.  She was an amazing dog.

If I found her on my patio today, I'd keep her.

I never had a problem letting the fosters go. Because I guess I am cold and unfeeling.

That I sincerely doubt.

Wishes she still has a good home.

DR singdaw I was just kind of wandering around the inner web looking for a good quote.....and that one showed up.  I, too, thought it was most appropriate for the times.

DR JANE - I thought it was quite nice of her, too.

She had written a book about Frances and was quite a champion for her, although many folks thought her crazy.  She was just trying to defend her sister against a lot of what she thought was misinformation.

I wrote her after I read her book and when she found out that I knew Jean Ratcliffe, the woman who wrote Frances' autobiography, she wrote me regularly trying to find out things......that I didn't know.

I thought she was a bit confused, but still someone who loved and cared for her sister.....it was quite a surprise to find the package one day.  I saved all of her letters - she died 20 years ago or so....

My friend/neighbor in PA raised Seeing Eye pups.  One year and then they left.  Belle and her first pup, a Black Lab named Bree, were the best of friends.  If they don't pass the family that raised them gets first offer to take the pup back.  I had dibs on her even though we already had three dogs and multiple cats.  I loved that dog.  She passed as I was sure she would, just too good of a dog.

My sister has a mother and six kittens living in her garage.....she feeds them with the help of her neighbor.....

Monday she is supposed to feed them and then nothing on Tuesday.  A rescue is going to come out and trap the mother, take her in for a spay and then bring her home.....they will do the same with the kittens when they get a bit older....

If this isn’t blocked by a paywall, it’s an interesting look at the Cleveland Orchestra which has recently started its own recording label. It includes some comparisons of a few pieces going back to Szell’s early days.

He played in that box for one day. That's as long as his interest is in any toy.

Sounds like JB.

My hairdresser, Richard, was telling me about various clients he's had over the years. Helen Reddy was one of them. He worked for the studios for a number of years and was called in one day about dying a gorilla's hair. Yes, a live gorilla. For some reason, they wanted the gorilla's chest to be darker. Richard declined the job, but told a friend about it. The friend agreed, but ended up with a broken arm. The gorilla did not like having his hair dyed.

Oh, my goodness! :o

George & Tom did you receive your ballots today?  I have a friend in Olympia who received hers.

Yes, I got mine today.  I went to my sister's today at my lunch time, and my niece was in the middle of filling hers out.  I'll fill mine out this weekend and mail it on Monday.  No dilly-dallying this year!!

Picked up a couple of packages, made hot dogs and ate them (very good), and in about twenty minutes I'll watch something.

What a coinkydink!  I had a chili dog for lunch today. :)

I like your quote, DR Laura.

It's great!  It reminds me of this joke:

Them:  You need to get into shape.
Me:  Round is a shape.

I can't find any information that my county also sent ours out early.  I hope so.

George, I expected you to take the ballots to a drop off box instead of mailing them.

Yes!  I'll put mine in a drop box.  There's one just down a block and across the street.

My niece and sister can drop off their own ballots...or my sister will get her boyfriend to do it. ::)

Okay, time to get serious again. How about some Les Baxter?

I would rather have some Lex Barker!
