TOD

I started Sylvia Scarlett. Tomorrow’s epic will be Akira Kurosawa’s Ran, which I haven’t seen since it first came out.

DR Jane, I was not hereforto (that's one word!) familiar with the work of Lowell Herrero.  Love it!

I am pleased to have introduced you to him.  This is the cover on my new cat calendar.

I decided to try the mini calendar this year and am surprised how small it is.

And what would a proper listening evening be without a set of record coasters?

;D

I am enjoying the photos of your photos.

Last night we watched the 1942 Rosalind Russell movie of My Sister Eileen. I wanted to like it.  Give me Wonderful Town!

The Betty Garrett version?

People like it.  I never did.  I might if it had the Bernstein score.

I've almost finished scoring the singer's lead-in.  Took me about an hour.

I think tonight we will watch Noel Coward's Cavalcade. I think the last time I watched it was on VHS many years ago. There was lots of gossip about Diana Wynyard in the biography of London producer Binkie Beaumont, and I wanted to watch it again to see her.  She was a London stage star, but most of her fellow actors detested her for her attitude and treatment of them.

My goal was to lose 80 lbs, and I lost 60 of that before the quarantine in March.  I suspect I've added 20 lbs since then.

What's the joke?  Something like, "I've been trying to lose 10 pounds...only 15 to go!"

As I recall, the music on this one is forgettable, and I believe the record itself might not even be playable. But I always loved this jacket design. The opening for the record is at the top.

That's a great album design!  Definitely worth having just for that.

Loved the collection, ChasSmith.

My only objects are a series of Star Wars toys, many in the wrapping, that you got at Taco Bell.

I have a (complete?) collection of the stuffed Taco Bell dogs that had the sound chip.

Very nice albums DR CHAS SMITH.

The NYC one is especially nice......I do not think I own any of the Music to ...... By - although I had some at one time.

I do think I have SEXERCISE but I don't think it's ever been out of the jacket.

A jug of White Lightnin' corn liquor that was gifted to Edith Farmer from her sister Frances Farmer, when Frances visited her at Christmas in 1961.

Edith had used it as a candle holder in subsequent years - I corresponded with her for a few years before her death, and one day she sent me this with the story.....for some reason.

I took pictures of my three Marx tin dollhouses: a two-story De-Luxe model, a 1954 Ranch Model, and the popular 1961 Split Level model.

But as I wrote, they are on a ledge that I cannot reach and the photos with ALL of the dust and dirt were too horrifying for public consumption.

I love the music of Herbert Howells. In addition to the concerti and all the wonderful chamber music, his sacred choral music is the gold standard in the cathedrals of England, from since it was written through to today. Well, it would still be today, if choirs were singing.

That was a rather more drastic weight loss procedure than I am willing to engage upon at the moment....

Sending you gentle hugs and continued healing vibes
