A lovely note, a nice sized box of Godiva chocolates (!) and two bottles of hand sanitizer!!What a nice gift. Which was more exciting the chocolate or hand sanitizer?I'm not sure!

Quote from: Jane on April 23, 2020, 10:17:59 PMI mentioned to Bryan if there is a line at Costco to get in he should be able to use his ID and go to the front of the line. Fortunately he hasn't seen a line yet.VHS is allowing medical staff and police/fireman/paramedics to shop thereeven if they do not have a membership

On the one hand, this makes no sense, because do I really dream of being a music copyist when I grow up? On the other hand: I have seen her in conversation on the web and wished it had gone on for hours; I have a passion for beautiful scores and would actually like to know more about what goes into them; and it will surely inspire me to dig into Finale better than I have. It's just a treat for myself that I sorely needed.I know Emily Grishman. I have worked with her and for her. Call me when she's dead.Whoa. Must be a helluva story behind that.

So which is a better term for these asses stirring up crap? This or "Covidiot?"
DR CILLA LIZ there is an asteroid passing over next week...maybe you can get some photos of that!
I'm trying to watch Two Gentlemen of Verona, a play I haven't read. I tried to watch this DVD before, but I haven't been able to get into it.
Fifty four years ago, two days after Keith's seventeenth birthday, we became a couple.
DR JohnG, I spent some time today looking up Brecht-Weill on youtube. There are a couple of complete performances of Mahagonny and Dreigroschenoper you might enjoy. I also found a complete performance of the BBC broadcast of Jonathan Miller's production of Candide for the Scottish Opera.
Quote from: Jrand69 on April 23, 2020, 06:01:16 AMMy question for ASK BK DAY:What is your favorite play/movie with a female ensemble cast (men can be included in the cast).....and what is the funniest murder mystery play you have read or seen?Funniest murder mystery play - maybe Rupert Holmes' Accomplice or Sleuth has some good laughs, as does Deathtrap. Favorite movie/play with females - hmmm - obviously The Women would have to be on there, but Steel Magnolias is okay and I enjoy Vanities.

I came home to find a calico cat in the backyard. I had seen her before, but she hasn't let me come near. Today, she was back at the rusty old shed I have. She had a litter of kitties running in and out of the shed. Oy.
I like this man who is protesting the reopening of the Florida beaches.
I've been reading a Harlem Renaissance novel called Romance in Marseille, by Claude MacKay. It's a shocker. Written in the late 1920s, the language is unapologetic about everything. His lesbian characters aren't suffering. His whores don't apologize for the life they lead. The pimps are low lifes, but not in need of psychological study. They're all there in service of the story. About the only thing the novel doesn't have is a genuine romance. And you don't really expect it.
My sister was rushed to the hospital today.
Ok, I'm going to try to get some sleep. Lately I haven't gone to bed until 2 or 3 am and still wake up at 7:30 or 8:00. So I'm going to try to sleep more tonight. Good night
