With apologies to Mr. Piven, who was totally cleared by Equity, but maybe it's more easygoing for now being an urban legend

Had to take my car to the repair place again because the "check engine" light keeps coming on.   They recently replaced the gas cap but the light came back on again.  They can't find anything else wrong.  The problem is that the emissions inspection is due by the end of December so I'm hoping against hope that it'll pass.

My "Service Engine Soon" light came on yesterday...again.  I need to take it in because I haven't in quite a while. ::)

Even though the car is almost 18 years old, it only has 43,000+ miles.   I hate to buy a new car since I drive so infrequently.

My car is now over 20 years old (June 14, 1998), but my odometer stopped working after 175,500 or so miles.  I don't know how far I've driven it since then because it broke last year.  Since I don't plan on selling it, I don't care.

The new mirror is supposed to be installed tomorrow.  Fingers crossed it goes smoothly this time and we are done with this "remodel".

End of remodeling vibes!

may have told this story before....
We were at one of Craig's t-ball games which to Bryan seemed to be endless.  When he groaned "When will it be over" Keith responded "When the fat lady sings".  Bryan turned to me and said "Mom, sing".  My hysterical laughing did not diminish the number of dagger eyes directed at Bryan.

Yikes!  I only live about a mile from where I work, so I don't do a lot of driving in a year.

The opera was very good.  We had great ($75, but free to us) seats.  After the show, we stayed for the talk-back and the people who played the brother and sister came and talked.  The boy is only 13 years old (the character is supposed to be 10) and this was his first opera!  He had won some chorister awards and has a great voice.  The young woman who played the 8-year old sister was in her early 20s and is also from England.  The talk-back was really interesting and informative.  Evidently, they have a talk-back after every performance, but the same actors don't speak after each performance.  People had a lot to say about the ambiguity of the piece and how they felt about it all.  A couple of people had read the original book and a lot of people had never seen it before.

After that, Margo and I went to Dick's Drive-In.  I hadn't been in a while and it was still good.  We then drove home (very little traffic problems either way) and I dropped her off.  I came home (it was almost 1:30 at this point) and fed myself and my cat, then just needed to get to bed, so I did.

DR GEORGE went to the opera last night....maybe it isn't over.

It was kind of long (but good), but we stayed for the talk-back afterward (see my previous posts).

Must have been a Wagner opera.  They're endless!

Not this time.  We saw Benjamin Britten's The Turn of the Screw
