Another roller coaster weather week: high of 68 tomorrow but very windy; a high of 43 Saturday (after a low of 29) , with accumulating snow expected!

That's terrible! Downtown Olympia has at least two hour metered parking, and there are places (only a few blocks away) that are up to nine hours.

Back to Great Expectations. I really love the way David Lean and his company have adapted this novel. Great storytelling in its own way.

Depressing day at work. The two people who know what they're doing are not happy. And that doesn't make life any easier.

The new director may be chosen more for their ability to crack the whip than do anything about content. I'm not really looking forward to that. That's not a long-term solution, which means it doesn't look good for the team's future.

TOD 4:

For sheer storytelling brilliance, Marcel Pagnol cannot be bettered. I love the Marseilles trilogy (which became Fanny) and La Femme du Boulanger (which became The Baker's Wife). And his stories, fictional as in Jean de Florette/Manon of the Springs or nonfictional as in My Father's Glory/My Mother's Castle, show how, with the right touch, melodrama can be truly affecting
