Sunday afternoon greetings!  We are home from Illinois after meeting my family for breakfast.  We left from the restaurant and arrived here just over 5 hours later.

I drive by two of my former homes two or three times a week....and if I take a short detour, another one can be seen....  Two of the others have been torn down....and one more is too far away to visit regularly.....

I am very sleepy.  I doubt I'll be awake for two more hours.

Sometimes it is difficult to go past homes we have lived in.  I hope you won't have to go past this one too often.

Walking on a carpet of yellow leaves, at times it was difficult to stay within the boundaries of the walking path.

Fortunately/surprisingly the leaves were not slippery in the rain.

I am happy to see Thatch becoming more independent.  He and Annabelle are eating out of each other's bowls, but she still intimidates him.  He was exploring the kitchen area this morning.

Good to hear, DR elmore!

He's been here nearly four weeks and Thatch is finally showing some spunk and initiative.  He's finally behaving like an active little kitten. I could not be happier.

OMG!  They are actually playing together and chasing each other.  There's a lot of running around, then she pins him down, and he yells, then she runs away, and he chases her.  I may have a stroke.

I started watching a film version of Othello last night with Laurence Olivier in blackface and what I guess he thought was blackvoice. Maggie Smith is Desdemona and Derek Jacobi is in the cast.

Sir Larry was a great Shakespearean actor and box office draw, and no one thought it peculiar or "racist" that he would don blackface to play Othello.  Now it would be a scandalous move to cast a white British actor to play The Moor.
It was still a great production of Othello.

I'm watching it again. And I am enjoying it. But I still find Olivier's voice somewhat annoying. I got this from the library because I hadn't seen it and because I saw Orson Welles' version last week. I like the fuller text that this movie offers, but I like Welles' Othello perhaps a little better.

As was the case with last year, I'm really not sure what I want to write in 2018.  Thrill Ride came to me very late in the year, mid-December, so hopefully that will be the case.  I do have another Adriana Hofstetter book story that I can do - have had that for some time but I do enjoy going to new territory so we'll see what transpires.

Thank you. I was wondering this myself and was going to wait until Wednesday to ask.

The Nutcracker was fun, thanks in large part to having the San Antonio Symphony back in the pit and playing the score live. I got to see the first half, which I enjoy watching, and I got to listen to the second half, which I would rather hear than see.

If only you could find the James Earl Jones one to compare.
