I'm up, I'm up - a little over eight hours of sleep - had the alarm not gone off I'm sure I would have slept till noon.

Thank you, DR Elmore.

And BTW, if you could accept a gentleman caller on Sunday afternoon, it looks like I'm driving down there and could stop by with your long-awaited liquid refreshment.

I would love to see you but it depends on the time.  There's a cat/pet event up at 100th and Columbus I want to attend.

Still a bit down today....but it's better than yesterday....so what do you want - egg in your beer?

My grandfather used to say that, and I still don't know what it means.

For the first night this week, I got a lot of sleep.  My leg is behaving this morning, no pains, no unsteadiness, so we'll see how the day goes.

Your escapee is a male, JRand. See the black dots on the black veins on the hindwing?

LOL. I love doing "Lonely Goatherd" parodies, but I don't think they're as much fun for the reader o listener as they are for the parody-writer.  :)

I believe one of those Lonely Goatherd parody lyrics was in the comments under this Times article.
https://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/02/nyregion/new-york-today-a-hardworking-herd.html?mcubz=0

That's pretty funny!

John G - There's a reprise, also about the Prospect Park goats, in the comments under this article, if you have a Times account:

THIS IS NOT MINE, BUT POSTED ONLINE BY A PERSON NAMED "RUNYONR":

https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/9/22/1700617/-The-Lonely-Dotard-with-Apologies-to-Rodgers-and-Hammerstein

"In the White House lived a lonely dotard.
Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo
Loud were the tweets of the lonely dotard.
Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo

The leader of a land that was quite remote heard
Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo
Those bleating tweets of the lonely dotard.
Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo

He bleated back, "You deranged old dotard,"
Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo
"I'll tame you with fire and I'll have the last word."
Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo

To revenge this insult the mad tweeting dotard
Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo
To launch World War III gave the nuclear password.
Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo

Thanks to lonely men in D. C. and Pyongyang
Our world ends not with a whimper but a bang."

Four days until vacation. Can't come soon enough.

Are you going good someplace or staying home and resting?

I'm headed to Sarasota, Fla. for a week.

My take on it was a lot more subtle:

Tune of “The Telephone Hour”  (from Bye Bye Birther, I mean, Bye Bye Birdie)

[snippets of many overheard calls]

“Hi, Charlie!”    “Hi, Teddy!”
“What the rumor, Mr. Schumer?”
“What’s the news, Mr. Cruz?
Tell me quick about Dotard and Kim.”

“Hi Alan!”      “Hi Benjy!”
“Hey what’s crankin’, Mr. Franken?”
“Will this  pass, Mr. Sasse?
Tell me quick about Dotard and Kim.”

Is it true about Kim?
Is there fury and fire?
Are the prospects real grim?
Is the outlook real dire?
So what’s new about Kim?  (Uh huh)
Should I make out a will?
Are our chances real slim?  (It’s OK.)
How’s the tax reform bill?

Are they steady?  Are they steady?
Getting ready for some no-good?
Donald’s mad at Kim,
Kim is mad at him!

When our goose is cooked, then we’re really cooked
What ya gonna do?  What ya gonna do?
Are they steady?  Are they steady?
Oh yeah!

You are serious about getting a cat if you a willing to miss out on Vernor's (the liquid drink is Vernor's-yes?)
