Oh wait, we'd deliberately excluded California in our contract with the Village Theatre, so they just would have had the NW premiere, we should have been able to do a production in California.

Ah well, maybe we chose the Festival over LACC?

Of course, it would be great now!  Shoulda, woulda, etc.

No, there would have been no cost to you at all.  Perhaps it was the Village that was the problem.

Our tire arrived and, with luck, we can drive away with our car by two. The lock on our loaner is locking fine but difficult to unlock. We are sitting in the car, parked in the shade, wondering what to do  ::)

Our tire was late due to the excessive traffic from people heading out for a long weekend to be in a prime spot for the full eclipse. We had expected to be home ahead of the traffic. Now we will likely spend the night in Eugene instead of fighting the Portland rush hour traffic.

I wish the person sitting in the car next to us was playing Big Band music instead of reggae.

The three cartons have arrived at Miami University.  Big sigh of relief.

When I was in high school, I spent a summer in Barcelona, living with a family. Their apartment was just a couple of blocks off Las Ramblas, where today's cowardly act of terror occurred. Heart very heavy now.

I haven't read the details yet.  Our time in Barcelona was wonderful.

Back from a haircut - was hoping I could just go directly to picking up some packages but alas they haven't been delivered yet and since it's Amazon's own delivery service, that yokel, like Ontrac, likes to wait until the end of the day.

Thank you.  It has not been totally uneventful but mostly annoyances.  The car is not right though, which we were informed when we collected it.  We have spoken to the dealership in Vancouver and they will call later to let us know when we can take it in to be repaired  They are concerned it will require a good amount to of work and time.

Picked up some packages containing CDs of Duke Ellington.  I'm putting them into iTunes now - unfortunately Gracenote is down so I'm having to enter all the info myself - I went to the Gracenote site because when you try to retrieve info you get a nice notice saying it's YOUR fault and to connect to the Internet - so I wrote them an amusing little missive on their site suggesting that if I was on their site I WAS on the damn Internet and that they should learn to shoulder the blame when they are at fault.  I'll wait before uploading the rest to see if it's back later.  Meantime I listened to the first of them - fantastic album called New Orleans Suite - one of his later albums on Atlantic - I prefer the sound on the classic Columbia and RCA albums, but the music is great.  Now playing, Ellington 66, an album of his arrangements of pop songs of that year or years close to that year.  It's very outre hearing a Beatles song done a la Ellington, but I like it and the sound is amazing - originally on Reprise.
