Yesterday was our last home visit from Amy our Visiting Nurse.  She was always most helpful and said we could call her if we had questions.

So now that I am released from her, I can start ordering my own ostomy supplies.....lots of choices, so I am studying them this weekend so we can put in our regular order on Monday......

Who thought it would be a good idea to star Liberace in a movie? This is on TCM right now.  I think MR BK should star in a remake or stage version of this vehicle......

Since the link doesn't work, I assume you are talking about SINCERELY YOURS, a remake of an old George Arliss movie, THE MAN WHO PLAYED GOD.

I've never seen either film, but I assume that Liberace was cast because, at the time, he was the hottest thing on TV.

A minister just purchased a copy of my play, B MOVIE.  That's the one that deals with the torrid Franchot Tone/Barbara Payton/Tom Neal affair.

I hope he realizes what he's in for.

Friday morning greetings!  Last night's book group meeting here was a lot of fun.  Richard and I just had leftover fresh fruit and mini quiches for breakfast.

We have 6 members who within  the past 10 years felt the call to become second career pastors .

Is that where the expression "putting them out to pastor" comes from?

Wright State University is in a huge financial mess and one of my librarian friends just posted on Facebook that her position is being eliminated.  She's a wonderful librarian and deserves so much better  :'(

The fan is broken in the AC. The repairs are taking forever because the replacement part the man had didn't fit.

The link worked for me, and that is the first I've seen of that movie, I kid you not, since watching it on daytime TV at home in the 1960s.  I never forgot it, even though I don't really remember anything of the story.  It's amazing now to see him in a regular suit!  I'd watch it again now, what the heck.

Doing a quick bit of research on The Good Earth chain yielded very little on the subject, but some of the indirect results set me off on one surprisingly intense wave of nostalgia for my early-1980s in the South Bay.  I knew not how good I had it in those three years.

Tomorrow is my brother Randy's 60th birthday,  I need to deal with his gift today.

Happy Birthday (early) to Randy!  Today is my mom's 75th birthday.  I got her (and me) tickets to see Andre Rieu in concert in October at the Tacoma Dome!  I just have to remember to print them out!

That's terrible!  My friend Margo used to be the volunteer coordinator here at the library and her "position was eliminated," also.  There were no financial issues and certainly no warning...they just cut the position on the last day of the month and she was escorted out of the building.  Margo thinks it was because the HR manager at the time (who has since been fired with cause) didn't like strong gay women who questioned him. ::)

So, does that mean that it's not going to cost more than $10k??  That would be wonderful!

CD

The best of Sarah Vaughn

Major disappointment. The songs chosen were too pop sounding. It had chorus that began many of ths songs. Sort of like the arrangements that Jimmy Durante did in the 60's which I like but they don't work for her. Jazz was her forte. I can only assume why these songs were recorded in these arrangements.
