DR JANE indeed the line was from THE LITTLE FOXES.

Thank you.  It does seem fitting then.

Sometimes my keyboard doesn't put the letters I type on the screen....it's like some kind of code.

I have to shut down my computer and start again.

Strange behavior.  Restarting helps me, or just closing all the links and reopening them.

Starting to listen to Blondel. Easy to see from the second song why it was a failure.

Watching some of the Tony performances now.

Didn't like Miss Saigon or Evan Hansen
Intrigued by Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812
Bandstand's choreography looked a little too much like Rob Ashford for my tastes. Thought the singers good, though.
Like Falsettoland, but what's this about the show being released in movie theaters? I thought it was going to PBS.

Had an omelet and a bagel earlier.  Then we had our first rehearsal, which would have been pretty excellent had my co-producer not inadvertently scheduled two singers at the same time - because of that I had to rush more than I cared to - annoying.

Listening to a set of Prokofiev symphonies conducted by the underappreciated and terrific Walter Weller - so far they are pretty damn great.  I have two other sets to go through.

David Hyde Pierce was a joy and the song sounded better than it did on the album.
Come From Away was a very touching evening of theater, and taking this song away from the rest of the show doesn't help matters. But I listen to that cast album and I still choke up at times.
Groundhog Day was surprisingly my favorite song of the evening.
War Paint: This may be the lamest song in the score. I especially hate the lyrics. But they belt it, so it might sell some tickets.

The In Memorium segment was the best part of all.

I got an offer to write another book today, another one on San Antonio restaurants and food stores, etc. It's like what I've already written, but in a different format. It's appealing -- and not.

Still, it's always nice being asked.

Listening to Prokofiev/Weller - what music - if you love film music you have to love Prokofiev because he was a film composer as well as symphonist and it's all part and parcel of his music.  Listening to his symphony five right now - it's just like the best film music.  The Weller set doesn't present the symphonies in order so I'm listening to the CDs as they are sequenced, which is interesting - in other words I went from Symphony 1 to Symphony 5, then after 5 we're back to 2.  The set I'm now downloading is in symphony order so that will be interesting.

Still listening after all these years.  Symphony 2 right now - very fiery piece.  I like this guy because his first symphony (the Classical) is only fourteen minutes long and the longest of them seems to be around forty minutes.

I don't know where the concert segments were filmed (or when), but the lighting on Mr. Mathis is horrible.

It would probably be easier just to put on a Johnny Mathis CD, then I wouldn't have to endure these pledge-breaks.

The worst part of the Tony's was not having a big blockbuster number from HELLO, DOLLY! during the awards.  "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" could have been a showstopper.

I understood that Glenn Close couldn't be nominated for Best Actress because she she previously done the show on Broadway, but why wasn't the musical nominated for best revival?
