I'm planning on going to San Angelo for a few days. I'll probably leave on Christmas Day if my friends in town continue their Christmas Eve party and liquor exchange. And of course, DR Jane will be here around that time. Is the date still Dec. 23?

Yes.  We will be at the Westin Hotel Riverfront.  Are you still free?
Yes.

Today Precious has a vet appt. at 5 p.m.   She has been scratching and biting and has some "hot spots".....not sure what is wrong...and I am sure the vet will yell at me....but maybe he will give her a shot that will stop the symptoms.....or something.

Why will the vet yell at you?  Are you feeding her the wrong foods?

TOD:   Will, once again, be flying east to Columbia SC via Atlanta GA.

I will be met by my mom and my Aunt Doris.  We will drive back to Johnston SC to begin, once again, our rituals of holiday dinners, lunches at the Edgefield Pool Room, shopping in North Augusta SC and Aiken SC, the placing of flowers on graves, and for multiple games of Skip-Bo.

Departure:  Dec. 12, 2016
Return: Dec. 29, 2016

I always look forward to your posts when you are home.  Will you be doing anything special this trip to prepare for your move after your retirement?

Blood pressure is under control.

Blood sugar is under control.

Heart beat is steady.

Some part of my meds robs me of energy most of the time.  I told my doctor yesterday that, on the rare occasion when I forget to take my morning pills regimen, I suddenly find myself possessed of energy I "used to have" in abundance.  Now that I know what causes it, I make extra sure I've taken my morning pills.

The doctor pointed to my "carvedilol" prescription and said "All the 'lols' can do that to you".

;D

A good doctor is something you will need before you move ;)

I am home and all wet from the rain.  The therapy was painful this morning.  My left thigh is all knotted up again and that was one painful massage.  I began the bikes today, so I did 2 miles and burned 40 or so calories.

You went 2 miles on the bike or in combination with other exercises?

Then I bused down to Lincoln Center to buy the movie tickets for tomorrow night.  While I was waiting for the box office to open, I sat in the lobby, and the young man at the door and I chatted.  when I told him we wanted to see the movie tomorrow since it ended on Thursday, he checked the schedule and told me it was playing all next week.  They don't post the next week's schedule until Tuesdays.

So . . . I called Charlotte and we are going next week.  Other good news?  My check will be ready for pickup tomorrow.  Thank God.

Double good news.

That's double good news DR ELMORE!!!!  Get the check vibes for YOU!

I expect a check on Saturday....I am a bit concerned about the new Medicare Part B deductible which happens in January.....I hope it just eats up the small COA we are supposed to get....which didn't happen with SS last year.

DR RLP - next year you won't have to DRIVE so far.

Next year will be a matter of "being there".

TOD - I'm really excited this year because I'll have 2 weeks off with no commitments.  Usually, during my 2 weeks off of school, Christmas falls in there somehow and I'm always busy at church etc.  But this year, school gets out on December 22 and Christmas falls on a weekend, so that leaves 2 weeks of nothing.  Also, this year, I'm not doing a show in December so I have a lot of free time to enjoy the holiday time.

Jane, Dec23 is Noche de los Rabanos, or Night of the Radishes. It's a special night probably to no one but me but we will have to bend an elbow in honor of this great root vegetable.

Back from a Chinese chicken salad and a bagel, and picking up a couple of packages, one of which contained the Bernstein cycle of Sibelius symphonies with the NY Phil.  Listening to them now and they're pretty great so far, with very nice remastered sound with incredible orchestral detail.  His performances tend to be on the fast side, but I like them and in terms of the first symphony I think I have to give Lenny the edge over Ormandy.  While I enjoyed the Berglund set, the sound is just not detailed like this and when I'm listening to great music I really want to HEAR it, and that includes all the orchestration detail.  That's why elmore likes me :)

But when I've finished with the Bernstein I will give the Berglund another listen, just to hear it again - it's a favorite of a lot of folks.

Good evening.

Back from the city way earlier than originally planned.  And that's a fine thing.

Dr Eagle Eye found a couple of fleas on Precious....so she got a flea shot and a steroid shot to help heal the hot spots.....and a monthly flea pill that should take care of thing.  She's already doing better, sleeping in her own bed for the first time in a few weeks.

The thought of orchestrating something like The Planets......makes my mind explode!  Where does one start?  Or do you just follow the advice of Maria Rainer Von Trapp?
