I was handed a package from Amazon.co.uk that Amazon told me would be delivered next week!  Simce I had a final delivery notice, I don't know when the hell it arrived, but it was the new Yeomen of the Guard full score from Oxford University Press that I paid $100 for with my last G&D check.

The carton was flimsy, water-damaged and torn open, and the new score looks like a bad second-hand copy with water-damaged pages and bent pages.  U am absolutely furious for several reasons: if the asshole Post Service driver had simply left it my lobby as usual on the first delivery attempt, I mighht have salvaged it a lot better, and I have received much more securely bundled packages from Amazon.co.uk in the past.

I've sent them a thank you and fuck you email, and now I wait for their response.

I've been going through the hard drives.  No sign of the Barber violin conceto. Frustrating day.

I'm glad I don't have one of those DVR's.  I would never leave the house.

It is a curse...that you'll have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands.

Jane, the lemon meringue pie was store-bought, and it just ain't like Mom's. But it's pretty good.

Makes me hungry for a grapefruit meringue pie, but it has been cold enough yet down here for the grapefruit to sweeten up. That's the only meringue pie I make.

I've never heard of a grapefruit meringue pie.  I do love grapefruit.  Can you post the recipe? ;D

I finished Hillbilly Elegy. Wild ride. Hope he keeps his life on track.

Some of my friends think he's gearing up to enter politics...

It wouldn't surprise me.

That's terrible!  Hopefully, Amazon UK will do the right thing.

Listening to Dave Digs Disney, which arrived in today's mail. Soon to be a new late-night friend. Just lovely music.

;)

And speaking of DVRs, I'm at home now, waiting for a Comcast technician to arrive (the arrivsl window is noon to 2 pm), because one of my DVRs can no longer access OnDemand.  I get an error message and when I called customer service, they couldn't see what was wrong.  If I have to get a new DVR, it'll have to wait because I have quite a few programs recorded on it, and I would need to watch those first.

I just got the most lovely surprise in today's post , and as soon as the OBC of Pacific Overtures ends in a few minutes, I am going to play this surprise CD and enjoy it immensely.  I've been wanting to purchase this for weeks.

Went to a used CD store in Tarzana - I used to go regularly but I honestly don't think I've been there in three years.  They were having a sale - I got four CDs for sixteen dollars INCLUDING tax.  An all Planets selection - yes, just when I thought I was out they pull me back in.  I got Tomita's Planets, a newer recording conducted by John Eliot Gardiner that I've been interested in hearing, Zubin Mehta's well-liked version with the LA Philharmonic, and a conductor called Mark Elder with the Halle Orchestra.

Listening to the Tomita Planets - very wacky - might try this one in the other room since it's Dolby Surround.

Okay, I've found two (2) RCA CDs on the shelf that are SACD.  There might be another one or two here.

The logos on the back say DSD (SACD Surround), SACD Stereo, and CD Audio.

These are the Reiner Scheherazade and the Heifetz Beethoven/Mendelssohn concertos.

I didn't know they'd released any of the Mercurys this way, but that's great news if a couple of favorites are available.

Good morning. We are going to see the tour of "Beautiful" today.

We loved it in New York last year and can't wait 'til it comes to Cincinnati in the spring!
