Oh, the fresh cider, the fresh donuts that looked like nothing and tasted incredible, watching them make both, and most of all...THE AROMA!

DR ChasSmith, this description by DR Jane is perfect!

Well, it didn't rain nearly as much as predicted.  I had visions of wading through two feet of water after hearing the weather reports.

Not a fan of Steve McQueen.  I think I've only seen 2 or 3 of his movies.

DR Ginny the photo is wonderful.  The people I saw in suits were on their way to or from work, not just for a casual drop in.  If you didn't eat the donuts hot you could taste that grease-lol

First thing in the morning and throughout the day I could smell the Cider Mill, giving me too much of an appetite.

This is me with my Dad at Franklin Cider Mill, probably around 1954 or '55.  Notice 1) how dressed up people are, and 2) the grease spots on the bag of donuts in Dad's left hand.

Great picture, Ginny!

When did you live there?  I suspect I had already moved to Ohio before you moved to Michigan.

I think so.  Bryan was in 5th grade and Craig in 2nd grade when we moved there.  Keith began working at Gale in Oct '67 and we didn't move until April '68.

Oh, that's much earlier than I'd thought!  I graduated from high school in June '68, so you lived there while I was in college in Ann Arbor.

Well, it's time for me to be off to the theater.  Last night's rehearsal was scheduled to go to 9:45, but they didn't need the whole time.  Hopefully, tonight's rehearsal won't either. :)

Until later.

I wish I'd known about Franklin Cider Mills when I was at Meadowbrook for a couple of summers.

DR ChasSmith, Michigan's cider mill season only runs about Labor Day to Thanksgiving.  If you were there for the summer, you might have missed it.

Your response totally confused me until I realized I typed sixes instead of eights ;D

We moved there in April, 1988.

Had a really good second rehearsal.  And now, since I've only had a biscotti to tide me over, I must sup.

LOL, I was trying to figure out how you had a 5th grader in 1968!  You moved to Michigan a couple of months before we moved into the house where we still live.

Seems to be 100 degrees out at 7:45.  That's normal.  Not.

I should have graduated in January 1969, but took the second half of 8th grade in the summer of '64 in order to graduate in June of '68.
