Possible topic: memories of going camping, since it came up last night?  And would you do it now at your more advanced age?

Just a suggestion.

What i recall most about Cub Scout / Boy Scout camping was that the simple cheese sandwiches felt like such a luxury, given we were in the middle of nowhere.   And the marshmallows on the campfire.

And from summer camp camping - the unique way of putting out the campfire at night.

I was awake very late last night and got little more than five hours sleep.

But I'm up, and that's that.  Perhaps a nap later.

My dream:  The show was Do I Hear a Waltz? but the song as I woke up was "I Can See It" from The Fantasticks.  George W. Bush was dubbing some of the vocal in the recording booth, and they had to disguise the melody or rhythm of a few of the phrases as a matter of security.

Oy!

Saturday morning greetings!  In about an hour I will take some more things over for the AAUW garage sale and see if Betty wants me to stay to help.  The main thing I'm taking today is what's left of the Noritake stoneware that Richard and I selected as our everyday dishes when we were married.  We used it for 20+ years and replaced when it no longer matched the kitchen.  We had service for 10, but several salad plates and cereal bowls bit the dust along the way.  Still a nice set, though...

BK -  I haven't caught up on the whole week on HHW yet, but did you see that Mark Evanier gave you another mention the other day and even linked the BWW review.

Saturday....rainy day.....I will continue to work on the slide show.....  One of our actors...the one who plays Aunt March has to drop out of the show.  Her father had a heart attack and he is scheduled for surgery, etc, and she doesn't think she can concentrate on the show - or she might have to miss rehearsals/performances.

So.....I shall wait until the role is recast to do that slide.....

My favorite camping memories are of going with my sister and brother-in-law to Croatia for a few days. It was August but the temperatures were in the 50s and it was rainy. Still, it was beautiful. We saw plenty, including the ruins where Julie Taymor filmed Titus. We slept in their camping trailer, not in a tent, but this was before my introduction to the BiPAP machine that is my lifeline. I wonder what I'd do without it on the camping trail.

Good morning, all!  After the concert, I was up too long looking for some Shostakovich symphonies on an external hard drive.  It took me two hours, but I found it.

So, around 2:20AM, I went to bed.  I was so tired, I thought, well, I'm exhausted, my leg won't bother me.

DR TCB, I am sorry that you found Sandy so changed.  In January 1987, my producer friend Bill Tynes died from AIDS.  I remember the day in late 1986 when I was visiting him and he was talking on the phone to Susan Lucci.  We had been talking about Christmas trip back to California, and I suddently realized: he;s not coming back to Manhattan. I will never see him alive after December 17.

He was on the phone4, laughing over that day;s soap silliness with Susan and I was fighting to keep my composure. The rst of my visit was a mess as I fought back tears and tried to remain chipper.

He died on Jan. 9, 1987.

Yesterday I made a typo that changed the meaning of what I thought I had said.  DR  TCB, I meant "notT bad" regarding Allen Young's  age, instead of "no good".
