And that concludes my performance ... in French.

I am very sleepy and I cannot get "Chattanooga Choo choo" out of my head.

And now I shall have the song my head for the rest of the afternoon, replete with images of Dorothy Dandridge and the Nicholas Brothers dancing before my eyes.

Everything's ready for the show tonight, did my banking, picked up a package and am now home.  Apparently the corner of Whitsett and Moorpark has become the poster child for car accidents - another bad one a while ago and that's after a really bad one a couple of weeks ago.

Thank you, DRs George and JRand.  The numbness is about gone, and the only pain I have is where the Novocain was injected.

TOD - I would like to have seen the presentations of the awards that took place during the commercials and, instead of Alan and Kristin mugging with the cast members, more of this kind of authentic backstage stuff:

Kelli's Quick Change, with dressers

Looks like we'll be closer to seventy tonight - still hoping for more last-minute reservations.

I enjoyed the Tonys and the hosts (I happen to love Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming).

Re: the In Memoriam.  I like Josh Groban I didn't mind that they had him sing. But I found the rest ridiculous. The names were too far back and they were going at such a fast speed. I will never understand why they don't put the photos and names as the only thing on the screen.  That made it pretty disastrous to me.

I think it was this year's Academy Awards where they finally did it right.  Even though having Jennifer Hudson sing was a bit of a misfire, the video presentation was well done.

For me, anything with Josh Groban in it is the kiss of death. He sprang unto the scene via Oprah, which is something I look upon with suspicion. I don't like his singing or his mannerisms. He looks too mechanical and his voice is unnatural, not in a serendipitous way, but in a prepackaged way.

It seems like anyone nowadays has to be packaged for the masses.  No one gets to be even slightly unique anymore.

Last night's Tony Awards was something I stopped by to see for a very short time, and then went on to other things. I like Cumming and Chenoweth, but they are like a spice. Too much is too overpowering and can't make a viewer want to stay. They are otherwise talented, but maybe hosting isn't something they should do.

I think in general awards shows have been getting worse over the years. It seems that the producers of such shows try way too hard to appeal to every possible viewer. What I think is needed is doing the show for the audience that will appreciate something geared to them. A narrowcast well-done, perhaps on a cable channel that would be a good fit. The audience will find it, as will others who are curious. If it's well-done, instead of "dumbed down" or whatever would be the correct term, people will seek the show out.

I'd like C-Span to broadcast the Tony Awards the same way they do the political conventions and the presidential inauguration - point the camera and shut up.

Of course, one of the actors has a conflict and cannot be there....

Oy!  Enough with the irresponsible actors.

Josh Groban is just another mediocre singer who got money behind him.  Then the people love him because he's packaged and safe - even people like Streisand buy into this crap, which is part of the problem.  It's like Kenny G or any of these people.

Seriously, I did not watch the Tonys last night, although I was here for much of the party. But if I HAD seen it, I probably would have agreed with most of you.
