In the mail was a notice of new regulations for when I renew my driver's license.  I will need to take my passport, along with license, to prove legal US residence.  Odd is that anyone over 50 has to take a vision exam.  WHAT!  Shouldn't everyone have to pass that regardless of age?  I remember I was in my early twenties when the eye doctor looked at Keith and said "Don't let her drive until she gets her new glasses".

There was no mention of a test.  I wonder if they dropped that.  I hope so, otherwise I will have to study for it.

They make you take a test to renew your license?  They probably should offer a stupidity test, but other than that, no.

A lot of states require a short test to renew your license.  I think California lets you renew it on-line, unfortunately we didn't know that before Craig went into the Peace Corps.  I remember having to take a renewal test but that, of course, was years and years ago.

I was able to renew on-line the last time I needed to renew my license.  However, you can only do that once, then you need to go in.  Then, the next time you can renew on-line again, then you have to go in again.

I like that method, wish they did it here.

Good idea, DR TCB, but Rob works second shift tomorrow and my book group meets at Emilie's.

When does Rob go to classes?

Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Twice a week, not too bad.

Since we had a concert on Sunday there is no band rehearsal tonight.  I'm going to practice the new music anyway...I had several hints from those who think they are brilliant in our section that they want to rearrange things before the next concert (read as they want their friends who just joined us to be in the front row playing the first part with them).  I would have agreed even last year, but not this year.   Both our director and our music librarian told me I should be playing first and just let the new ones sit in the back row and play second.   So, I'm going to stand my ground.  I'm also going to practice a lot this week so the first run through of the new music I can play it better than they can

Good for you!! :D

Jane, I actually had to shut it off one hour in.  I'll try for the other hour at some point, just to watch the effects scenes in Hollywood.

Well, it's time for me to leave work to go downtown to usher for an improv show.  Harlequin Productions has a monthly improv show that plays on the set of whatever their current regular stage production is, on a Wednesday night when that current show isn't playing.  Several friends are in it, so I'm glad I'm able to see it.

Be back later.

Just popping in after rising out of my RAGTIME coma. The show is up and running, but we made it just barely on time. We rehearsed right up to the opening night performance. That's what happens when you try and put up a monster 3 hour show with tons of choreography and with all the dialogue timed to the music (almost no vamps in the score), with 45 people... in 3 weeks. Oy.

But so far, all is well and the reviews are happy ones. Me? I ended up playing 14 people (13 other than Henry Ford). I'm not sure I recall signing up for that. Too late now.

I hope all is will with BK and the DR's. I've caught a little chat here and there when I could.

BK, congrats on Sandy's album. I was hoping to make the big do on the 20th, but it looks like I may be working another gig that evening.

Cheers!  :D

Had a bacon cheeseburger for lunch and am kind of hungry now but don't want to eat anything with too many calories.  Maybe I'll go and get some chicken soup or a Subway sandwich or something like that.

Watching what is, despite the usual cheerleaders for this sort of thing, surely one of the worst movies ever made - well directed in certain ways, good effects, but a script that is beyond bad and a film trying so hard to be funny and failing and flailing so monumentally that it beggars belief.  I saw it at the opening show at the Dome and the audience and I sat there with our mouths agape at its awfulness.  This film, "critic" Jonathan Rosenbaum calls an Essential Movie, which tells you all you need to know about THAT guy.  It's called 1941.  The fact that they released an even longer version, with twenty-six more monumentally unfunny stuff is chutzpah of the highest order.  Sometimes it's just a fail.

I didn't think 1941 was a terrible movie.  I just didn't think it lived up to its hype, yet it did have its moments.  May he rest in peace, but I never was a fan of John Belushi.

thanks. It really isn't a big deal. But their attitudes irritate me. If Lisa comes back ,I may move to the second row to get away from them. I like sitting with her.
