Thank you, all, for the vibes.  I survived attending a lecture at the public library and delivering some meds to Mom.  Getting into and out of the car is the biggest challenge, but otherwise I wasn't too uncomfortable.  Fr. Richard has excused me from the trip to Lima tomorrow, for which I'm very grateful.

The From Here to Eternity broadcast that some DRs recently saw in the theater will be released to Blu-Ray in November.

I am sure that DR vixmom will be first in line to purchase a copy.        :)

Good. I'll have to miss it at the theater. I forgot Ringo Starr was Tuesday night.

Topic of the Day (just a few of MANY):

The Best of Times
I Don't Want to Know
If He Walked Into My Life
It's Today/Show Tune
Look What Happened To Mabel
Put on Your Sunday Clothes

Song on the Sand
Time Heals Everything
Two a Day
Wherever He Ain't

Somehow your list reminded me of a another favorite: Just Go to the Movies

We just got our first good review from Max Preeo on the Cast recording List:
Tuesday, October 7, New World Records releases the splendid new two-CD
studio recording of Jerome Kern and Otto Harbach's ROBERTA, reconstructed by
Larry Moore, providing a revelation of how its creators integrated the music
and book.  It is presented as a "radio play," with dialogue (lengthier
sections are indexed so they can be skipped) that gives a complete
understanding of how the show worked on its opening night in 1933.  Of
course all the now-familiar songs, such as "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,"
"You're Devastating," "Let's Begin," "I'll Be Hard to Handle," "Something
Had to Happen" and more are here, as well as previously unrecorded reprises,
"Hot Spot" and "Clemintina," dance music and underscore.  An appendix has
the cut "Armful of Trouble" and "I Won't Dance" and "Lovely to Look At," as
sung in the 1935 film version, with a lovely uninterrupted "Smoke Gets in
Your Eyes."  Everything is well sung/performed by a cast including Annalene
Beechey, Patrick Cummings, Jason Graae, Kim Criswell,  and Diana Montague,
with Rob Berman lading the Orchestra of Ireland through Robert Russell
Bennett's orchestrations (painstakingly reconstructed/reorchestrated by
Larry, fully detailed in the set's booklet).

High praise indeed, DR Elmore!

The long drive wouldn't be too good for your back, worse would be sitting though the service.

I cannot find what age she was when she suffered a stroke that put her in the wheelchair.

I found an obit that said "By the end, she was virtually confined to a wheelchair—the result, she once said, of an accident suffered in the late '80s while she was dancing on tour in Australia".

And then I'd have to sit through coffee hour.  And THEN sit around while Fr. Richard meets with the vestry.

I have had an email ready to send to Craig.  I thought I would comment on the Nationals vs Giants game before sending it.  They are in the 11th inning.  It was the 8th inning when I wrote the email & I figured it wouldn't be long.  :D

I'm rooting for the Nationals.  Craig would really like to see a World Series game.

I just found out that I'll be attending the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's concert of Sibelius and Beethoven almost as soon as I get out of Garrison Keillor.

Wheeeee!
