And now for something completely different...for those of you who just can't get enough of the song "Let it Go" from "Frozen," click HERE for a YouTube clip that's 1 hour 56 minutes and 48 seconds of the song in 31, count 'em, 31 different languages!  How do people find all these different recordings??

I occasionally will use hairspray that is non-scented. I like the ones that don't make your hair sticky.

I remember once trying something from a favorite brand at Sephora. And I thought I was going to die. I had to come right home and wash it out because it was making me sick.

I wonder if this will be recorded.  It's the 30th anniversary...I would hope that someone will record this. ::)

I'm guessing from now on you do a scent test first ;)

I carried a pocket comb during my school years out of some misguided illusion that when I combed my hair I was actually doing something good.  There was nothing thick or manageable or interesting about my hair, ever.  I know I tried one or more of those products, but don't remember if I ever used one regularly.  If nothing was around, I'd use water in a futile attempt to make the hair go where I wanted.

I well remember the barber always splashing something on there, and the way the hair would feel walking out after a haircut and for the following day or so.

Hmmm, still thinking about the pocket comb.  I'll bet I carried one longer than I care to remember.  Maybe best leave it at that!  What with male pattern baldness developing early (or it seemed early for me), I did breathe a sigh of relief at whatever point it was I gave up all pretense and just kept the top clean and smooth.  Yuck.  I really don't like my own hair memories.  Maybe I'll find a few pieces of photographic evidence to post later.

Good evening. Today I went hiking in the Superstition Mountains. When I got up to the saddle, here was my view:

Photos of me as a kid are hideous.  Anyhoo, does this hair have something in it?  I don't know.  All I can tell you is that it would only stay in place for as long as it took to get that picture.  Once I started walking across a room, my hand would be up there brushing it to the side or, later, when it was longer, out of my eyes.  (Like in the avatar.)  Actually, I can't believe there was that much hair on my head even then.

My guess is there was something in your hair.  It could just be water :)

DR Elmore, since they're so fond of your arrangements I'm sure the Cincinnati chorus will now want to meet you in person!

The invitation has been extended.

Several times.

And....?

Who's paying for it? I have no money these days, as everyone on HHW is well aware from my pissing and moaning. Also, I'm not particularly enamored of seeing either of my siblings since they're the major hurdle of selling that Ohio property, and I may only be back when I sue them. I'm seriously thinking about it. Maybe I can give the Macbeths a stroke!

Saw the new Texas Monthly at the store tonight. First byline in it. The store is little more than a series of captions on noodle soups across the state and I share it with four other people. But it's still a thrill.

Pine Bros, the cough drops I have always preferred disappeared a number of years ago.  Recently I went to the drug store and saw them for sale.  They are under new ownership, have been repackaged and are back in the States.  They have been around since 1870.  The downside is I am eating them like candy.  They are chewy like large Jujubes.

One thing on Castrecl that I was directed to recently was the Berkshire Record Outlet, which sells classical music, jazz and the like at deeply discounted prices. Got my first order today at it included the TV version of Dearest Enemy, Dolores Gray on the Bell Telephone Hour with that great number, Are You Ready, Gyp Watson from Destry.

Now, if I only had time to watch them.

Remember that photo of St. Paul Cathedral that I posted early this morning?  Well, the cathedral grounds are now the site of great construction for "Crashed Ice." Think of it as speed skating on a luge track. This utterly insane local phenomenon starts this weekend.

Here is a video recap from last year's event:

Cool!  Sort of like the Snowboard cross only on ice skates

DR John G., I used to drive up to Berkshire back when they still carried vinyl.  I saw that, too, and was delighted to know they're still around.
