Logging out to preserve my phone battery...

I always have our chargers with me and then we sit next to plug outlets.  That didn't work to well in Auckland since I didn't have an adapter.

Thanks, DR ChasSmith!  In addition to the eBook, I also have a dead-tree book and my knitting.

I like to walk and stretch often.  It is boring but at least I'm moving.

Yep, I've been getting up frequently to check the monitors, because they also keep changing the gate.

DR Jennifer congratulations on your win.  The doughnut sounds intriguing.

This is the site: http://lechedesserts.ca/our-donoughts.html

They show pictures but don't say which doughnut is which. But they were all apparently delicious.

If you right-click on the doughnut picture and "save-as," the file name tells you which kind they are. ;)

You are so clever :)

The automobile is back home, and I am only $114 poorer...so that makes me happy.

Boy did you luck out! :)

Seriously.  I can't remember when I last saw a $114 car repair bill.  Congratulations, DR Jrand63.

Whew, DR JRand!  Better than the $700 it cost me when my CHECK ENGINE light came on the day before Thanksgiving!

It is 10 years old now, though, so who knows how much longer that will be possible.

Just had a bit of a writing frenzy - I've done eight pages so far.  I think I'll take a break now, but will probably do two or three more after the show tonight.

Keith just asked me who was on the phone a little while ago.  My response was "I don't know, I thought you answered it".  LOL I guess it was a wrong number as they hung up after 1 ring.

Be very cautious on this.  The latest "scam" is called the "one-ring" scam.  Automatic calls are made to dial numbers in the U.S. and hang up after one ring.  A callback number is left on your machine.  Calling these numbers back can be VERY COSTLY....up to $30 just for redialing and up to $9 minute thereafter.

If you don't recognize the number, delete it from your call list.

I never call back numbers if someone calls and hangs up.  If they don't leave a message, I just figure that it's a wrong number and I have no need to confirm that.  Even if I do recognize the number, I don't call back if they don't leave me a message.  If they want me to call back, then they need to let me know that they want me to call them back.  I ain't no mind reader, ya know.

I get the one-rings, the no-messages, the unknown names/numbers, the "toll free" numbers, and now, unfortunately, just to make it really tricky -- "local area code" ones.

The same spammers will go on leaving repeat messages FOR YEARS, and they have no end of numbers to show on your display.  I've learned to recognize a lot of them, and a lot of other suspicious ones that turn out to be more of the same.

If I don't immediately know the number, NOTHING gets answered.  Period.  You can be on all the Do Not Call lists in the world (and I am), but no one's looking out for you.  Just completely ignore these jerks.  Now and forever.

Why should something so obvious get a comment?

Too windy for a bike ride, so a 40 minute bike ride in the workout room had to suffice.

DR Matthew, jUBILEE never got a commercial CD release. There are recordings from the first 1986 production and the 1998 BBC broadcast floating about. Because there's so much music in the score, no one's performed either of the two dances that Porter wrote for the show. I prefer the 1998 broadcast because I loved Vivienne Martin and Denis Quilley as the Queen and the King; the one person I really like from 1986 is Rebecca Luker as the Princess.

I just got anEviction nticein my email from some law firm Littler.com but I really suspect it's some sort of phishing game. The email says:
You are hereby given notice that you are in breach of your tenancy of the premises you currently occupy.

To remedy the breach you have to quit the premises within the following four weeks.

If you fail to comply you will be physically removed and fined for up to 100 minimum monthly wages.

Detailed information is attached herewith.

Court secretary,
ATKINSON Buchanan

So, the Big Question is, what the fat hell are they phishing for?

If someone I know hangs up after one ring I still figure it was a wrong number, unless it is Keith calling from his cell phone.
