Is anyone watching the return of "Sherlock" on tv tonight?

Yes.  Well, taping it for future viewing.

The twenty-five minute drive took twenty-five minutes both ways.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about!      :)

The St. Paul Winter Carnival is coming soon. Its ethos is very similar to Mardi Gras, although of course the particulars are different. The symbolism is the eventual vanquishing of Winter by Summer. They no longer construct an ice palace (too expensive). But there are parades, pageantry, and celebrations for 10 days. They also bury a medallion somewhere on public land, with a clue each day published in the paper. The finder gets $10,000!

I almost posted these very words in response to something you posted yesterday about food.       :)

The matinee was completely sold out, our last in the smaller space.  Tomorrow they begin the move to the bigger space.  It was a terrific audience and show.

Congratulations!

FJL, Mike and BK: I'm sorry to read about all these casting problems. Vibes for great casts all around.

Well, it's almost time to hit the road for the last cocktail party of the conference. I'd almost rather stay at home. But I know it will be fun.

Richard is, but I think I'll go to bed and read The Art Forger by B. A. Shapiro.

FJL, sorry to read about the interuptions to the production.  Vibes that everything works out soon.

Thanks TCB - disruptions, but no interruptions at all, though, at least not yet.  We won't go into rehearsal until around Feb. 10.  Show dates are Feb 25 to March 2.

Hugh Jackman coming back to Broadway in a Jez Butterworth play "THE RIVER" next year. Will premium prices finally go over $500?

To celebrate:  I updated "I Raid My Keogh" to tune of "I Go To Rio" (sung by Jan Horvath)

Very clever. I love the "I raid my Keogh" concept.

Thanks, Jeanne!

Anything is possible, but it looks like

Peter Pan

is the next choice for NBC's live musical presention. Sometime in December of 2014 is the date.

I saw this earlier. Interesting choice.

I imagine it will star Lady Gaga as Peter, and Jay-Z as Hook / Mr. Darling.

The article I read on tvline.com said there would be a male lead.

I called the rental place. It was 10 minutes before their closing time. The representative put me on hold until after they had closed, and then left the office.

I had to call a mobile locksmith myself to extricate myself from that situation. The next day, I gave the rental company a piece of my mind.
They ultimately reimbursed me for the locksmith, at least, which they didn't have to do.

Well that was pretty rude of them to put you on hold and then leave.

DITTO! Maybe you'll find a replacement as quickly as BK did for his revue.

Not THAT fast, but we did find a terrific music director today, which we hadn't had firmed up before.

TCB - the man who was nominated for best supporting actor for Captain Phillips (don't remember his name) used to be a taxi driver from Minneapolis.   There is a large Somali community there and apparently he was discovered there somehow.....or something like that.

I did my laundry since it exhausts into the garage and I need to keep the door open when I dry clothes.  I also opened a bunch of windows and aired out the house.  Man was that nice

I did a marathon of Orange is the New Black.   I like it and I don't like it.  A couple of the major story lines are totally different in the book, but you'd have to do that to make it interesting enough for a series. In the book, which is supposedly all true,  Piper's girlfriend/person who snitched her out/  was not at the same prison as Piper even though she is at the same prison in the series.  Obviously that totally changes the dynamic with her fiance

I don't know much.  I woke up this morning and every muscle in my body hurt.  I don't know why. It took a very hot shower, aleve, stretching, eating breakfast and drinking lots of water before I felt better.
