Feeling kinda bad for Mirai Nagasu who took third place at U.S. Nationals but was bumped from the team in favor of Ashley Wagner.  Wagner is scary-looking most of the time.  She wants everything with too much fervor and, as a result, overdoes everything.

I'm a firm believer that if you finish third and three people can go, then YOU go.  Wagner had her chance in both programs and she fell twice and finished fourth.  Falling isn't an issue if you can score enough points to overcome the fall.  Wagner did not and could not score more points.  There should be no Olympics for her.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I disagree. They have to look at the overall performance and who has the best chance of doing well at the Olympics. I think Wagner has a much better shot of doing better. Plus it was her doing well at the World Championships that got them the 3rd spot.

I do think that it is a shame that only 3 get to go. That doesn't make sense to me. It would be nice if 4 or 5 got to go if they were competitive enough to do well.

Feeling bad for Max Aaron who free-skated himself into third place at Nationals, but won't be going to the Olympics because only two men will go.  Sadly, Jeremy Abbott (28 years old and sporting an abominable haircut) won again and will again go to an international competition where history says he will be lackluster and disappointing.

Maybe history will be proven wrong.   But there IS Jason Brown who was very good at nationals and won the silver.

I feel very bad for Max Aaron too. Such a shame. I loved Jason Brown's long program. So exciting.

Good evening, all.

Congratulations on a great show, BK. I've loved Obba Babbatunde's singing since Dreamgirls. His singing of the line, "Effie, sing my song the way it should be" is written in my mind.

The book went to the publisher last night. The photos were placed in the mail today. Perhaps I can start to breathe easier again.

I have to agree with Ron on this one.  If you can't pull if off when it counts at Nationals, you don't go.

They also said she didn't have a coach to help her.  Didn't she have a coach? Time to google
