They can't be; they're Mormon!

Going to bed soon, but I am a bit hungry.   Any tuna pasta or spaghetti left?

Back from all the Christmas Eve services and feeling slightly light-headed from a fizzy margarita. Imbibed at home, not at the church. In case you were wondering.

the St. Olaf concert

That's less than 45 minutes from here, and next year I will have tickets to be there.

If I were to walk into the "Do" right now, I swear I'd eat up every remaining morsel!      :P

And the Do is Done and what a Do it was - the best ever.  The busiest Do has been about twenty people, but we had forty or thereabouts - everyone showed up this year.  I made FIVE pounds of pasta - last year I made four, the year before three and there's always some left.  Tonight all five pounds were eaten, along with most of the sauce, which I made more of than ever before.  A good thing I doubled the dose of tuna pasta salad because that all went, too, save for a few ounces.

Also, I normally herd everyone into the den, but that was impossible and the party took place in all rooms.  I won't remember everyone who came, but the surprises were Andrea Marcovicci and her mom, my neighbor, Karen Morrow and a few others.  I'll write more in the notes - I'm exhausted but finishing a movie to relax.

I LOVE THIS!!

I do, too. Biggest laugh of the day.

I think I really need that for when I normally sleep.  That might keep my cat off my head.

Here's that article from the NY Times on Barbra Streisand having seen Bette Midler's show

http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/12/24/streisand-sees-ill-eat-you-last-at-last/

It says she did go backstage after the show to say hello to Bette Midler.

Great parody lyrics, Fred!

And finally, the gay man and boy love story we threw in to draw the crowds.

Umm...I think I missed that subplot. :o

Here's Karl's wedding photo. I never met Jennifer, but I know he's crazy about her.

That was a lovely picture.  Congrats to the newlyweds!

Well, the do at the parents' house was traditionally low key.  We just ate (I got there late and they started without me, which is fine) and chatted and ate and had dessert.  My sister made a vegan peach pie (I didn't have that tonight, I'll have some tomorrow) and my mom bought a chocolate cream pie (not vegan, but neither am I :)).

We exchanged gifts.  I got my dad season 4 of "Warehouse 13."  He loves this show and loved the DVD set.

I got my mom the complete series of "Soap," with Richard Mulliga, Katherine Helmond (who was on BK's "Jeepers Creepers" CD), and BK's close and personal friend, Diana Canova.  My mom was VERY happy to get this because just a couple of weeks ago, she was saying how much she loved this show.  I ordered from Amazon and it came very quickly! ;)

I got my niece a pull-over hoodie sweater that she had picked out (she does that all the time and makes gift giving so much easier).  I got my sister the Blu-ray discs of "Chariots of Fire" (she loves this movie) and the Charlton Heston version of "Ben Hur."  She actually loves this movie, too (just not Heston's politics).
