That should be fun, DR Ginny.  Hope you can relax a little.

I hoping to be able to stay awake...

It's definitely not been a good week. The cough and sore throat persist and because I've been sitting and lying around so much, I've now got backache. I need to be fit to fly to Germany on Monday but there's a big storm brewing for that day so my travel plans that day may get totally scuppered if aircraft get cancelled.

Doug is the approaching storm really so strong that it might cancel or postpone your flight?

Yes. There's a severe weather warning with gusts of more than 80mph forecast and British Airways have already said flights may be affected. I tried to re-schedule my flight but there's nothing available. My flight is late in the day and hopefully the worst of the storm will be over by then. The timing and extent of the storm isn't clear though.

Are you hoping your flight is canceled?

Absolutely not. The weather doesn't worry me. Aircraft don't take off it it's not safe.

I thought you might because you have been sick.  Now that I know...................

GOOD FLYING WEATHER VIBES!!!!

For my dear friend Swivel Head!

That's mean...funny, but mean.

;)

This is the photo that I also posted on Facebook that DR RLP is talking about....so far I have more people liking and sharing this photo than any other on my feed in the last four months.

It is especially popular among the cast members of a local theatre doing a production of "The Miracle Worker" next week.

Had a lot of fun at "Rocky Horror Show" last night. Hadn't seen the show live before and this was a fun, over-the-top production. They used the set for Young Frankenstein, which is playing in rep. So, they really had a slab that descended from above. And when they sang, "There's a light/Over at the Frankenstein place ...," well, it really was.

That's pretty cool!

SPOILERS:  SHAMELESS PLUG AHEAD: Next Friday, Theater Artists Olympia (TAO) is having a fund raiser so that we can put on The Rocky Horror Show.  It's been done here in Olympia a few times and it always sells out, so we think it'll do well.  We just have to raise money to actually put it on.  We will also be setting up an Indiegogo project to raise additional funds, because our "TAO OF THE DEAD CARN-EVIL" won't make enough to rent a space, but it will (hopefully) give us a nice chunk o' change to get things started.  It's also to help get the word out that we want to put on this show, so hopefully by the time we actually do the performances, it'll be completely paid for...hopefully. ;D

Absolutely ALL of my co-workers are out of the office this afternoon.  None are coming back.  I'm alone.

I agree.  The price was discussed and someone(s) said that too many people wouldn't go if it cost $10.  So, the $7 was a compromise. ::)

Our "BIG" fund raiser will be the Indiegogo project.

I have just received a Mr. Coffee "Latte" maker.  It makes espresso, froths cream and creates a latte.  Allegedly.

Will test it out this evening or tomorrow a.m.

Last ngiht was the first rehearsal for IAWL.  It is strange to be doing a show at my home theatere, and yet I have only worked with one or two of these people; and never at this theater.

Looking forward to hearing about the rehearsals and performances!

I had an interesting time at the Austin Film Festival yesterday.

I did one of their Roundtable sessions, and sitting next to me at one of those tables was actor Robert Walden (LOU GRANT), who has just moved to Austin.  We will probably have lunch together in the next week or two.

Also, a guy came up to me, asked if I was "Michael Druxman," then told me that, when he was a teenager back in the early 1970s, he would come to my house in Agoura Hills, CA, and watch the 16mm movies I would show almost every night in my living room.  He said that watching movies in my house is what inspired him to go to film school.

Later, he became a psychotherapist, but now he wants to try screenwriting, which is why he was at the Austin Film Festival.

What nice feedback from the psychotherapist.  Did you know Robert Walden in LA?

No, I had never met him before, but we had many friends and associates in common.

Daryl Anderson, who was also on LOU GRANT, was once a publicity client.

I'm looking forward to lunching with him soon.

I'm back from the Austin Film Festival today...and totally exhausted.

I received the 3 DVDs I was expecting, but I am too tired to watch tonight.

I had a fun time, though.

Hello, everyone.

Ah, Druxy, was the psychotherapist an invited guest when he watched your movies? He didn't sneak into your house and watch while you were asleep, did he? Or watch through the windows while standing outside?

I hope everyone posts pictures of their Halloween costumes!

It is Friday, October 25....two months until Christmas...in case you didn't know.

To paraphrase my Grandma:

Have yourself a very early Christmas
Go buy something nice
Spend a lot of money and do not think twice

Here we are in October days
Smart and sober days, we thought
Still we fell for the standard shtick
Not yet sick of Nick, we bought

Some day soon we’ll all be in the poorhouse
If we spend too free
Hang the IOU there on your Christmas tree
Still have yourself a very early Christmas spree

I love the song and I love your Grandma!
