Good morning, DR Laura.

I think if you collected all your "footer quotes" over the years, and put them in a book, it would be a best seller!         :)

One of my first Matchbox cars as a kid was a Nash Rambler.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to Cast Recording List, Mr C, who vowed never to return, is back. Oy!

I'm glad I only read that via email and not participate too heavily.

TOD 2: My second choice would be a revival of Cole Porter and Moss Hart's Jubilee about a royal family deserting their royal duties. I don't know whom to cast because I don't know of anybody nearly as funny or imperious as Mary Boland to play the queen. Her every move and line in "The Women" makes me howl. Bill Irwin might made a good King.

Just have someone wonderful as Rebecca Luker to sing songs as delicious "Begin the Beguine" and "Why Shouldn't I?" It would be hard because, as we've discussed in the past, too many of today's singers don't trust the music. Can you imagine how horrible an "American Idol" type would be if handed "Just One of Those Things"? Or if he had to sing with someone else on a ditty like "A Picture of Me Without You"?

The smoke is much, much worst this morning.  Keith says he has to mow the lawn today :(  I have errands to do or I wouldn't go out at all.  I bet I see more people wearing masks today than I did yesterday.

"Big fires bring more than 3,500 firefighters to Southern Oregon - 11:06 am. With the five largest fires burning in Douglas and Josephine counties having grown to more than 35,000 acres, southwest Oregon now has the dubious distinction of being the nation's wildfire hot spot."

Gads, DR Jane. Is there any danger of the fires themselves approaching your neighborhood, or are they further off?

I don't envy you, DR Jane. I can remember when I was a kid living down there and how smokey it could get...and back then it wasn't just from the fires, but also combined with all of the lumber mills in the area. 100 % pollution! There were days where you could not see the house across the street due to the smoke.

DR BK:

I love the Older cars.  Your Rambler looks Awesome.

When I was a young lass, my first car was a 1965 red convertable Ford Mustang

It looked good, but the roof leaked.

...and I'm back.  Probably only slept for about half an hour before the phone rang (@$&# telemarketer), but it took the edge off.  I've had another cup of coffee and some lunch and my head is much clearer now.

That new "Popular" song that Kristin Chenoweth sang (on Leno I think) is hilarious.

DR Kate, MAGNIFICENT OBSESSION is such a wonderful movie, and I agree about Rock Hudson. Love him especially in ALL THAT HEAVEN ALLOWS.

Here is a photo of the set for Jerry Lewis' The Ladies Man (1961). He reportedly paid for the set out of his own pocket; nearly $500,000 - which was quite a bit of money back then.

Nice and an interesting bit of trivia.

Frustrating day with my university and student loans. I hate it that every time I call them, I get a different answer on things.
