TOD:

I don't know from 1st editions.

But if I owned one that would allow me to retire comfortably, I would be very happy.

The fire protection system, when tripped, sounds an alarm. You have a finite amount of time to exit the stacks, after which all the oxygen is sucked out of the stacks. It puts out the fire without using water, which would obviously damage the books. It also means that if you hear that alarm, you'd better get out!!!

I want one of those!

And there you can see why the original Dolly cast album sounds like it was recorded in a distant country - one mic for all.  Buh-bye band, buh-bye singers.

And I am home from a mostly hellish day at Toyland. I got a bit f work accomplished, I had a nice visit, and I had a horrendous round of communications over ROBERTA and DEAREST ENEMY. I'm ready to get drunk. Is there any booze in the apartment? I doubt it.

Maybe I'll settle for ice cream!

Loved Eileen Brennan in just about anything she did. Will have to play Dolly, Mary S. or At Long Last Love later.

I just remembered that I have MP3s to the "At Long Last Love" soundtrack here at work!  I'll listen to that right now! ;D

Dublin vibes for Elmore. Allergy vibes for ChasSmith. And your everyday, garden-variety vibes for everyone else.

The emails to and from Dublin continue. What a day!

Tomorrow, I am staying home. I'm still debating the alcohol.

Having an issue with one of our cast members - she was booked to do a concert at Musical Theatre West - start time on Saturday was eight.  All along she's been told they'll rehearse this week.  Today that all changed.  No rehearsals this week, new start times and not just one but two - at six-fifteen and seven-fifteen and rehearsal before.  They're now putting her in a terrible position and she's asking us if she can run her stuff outside of the run-through - which I have never done and never will do - my stumble-through is the only chance I have to see how the structure and show order work and I occasionally get things wrong and adjust once I've heard and seen the show and I will not be denied that opportunity and I especially will not be denied it be some theater that doesn't give a crap about what position they put a performer in or anything else besides their self-serving promotional concert.

I'm on the cusp of replacing her because I resent this inconvenience so very much.  My co-producer said who are we going to find to learn the three songs so quickly and I reminded her that this cast member doesn't know them yet or certainly didn't yesterday.  We'll see how it plays out but I'm a little nauseated right now.  She's known our schedule for three and a half weeks - if this sickening theater (she just did a show there and obviously wants to keep that door open and that I understand) changes everything at the last minute, that is NOT my problem and I loathe them for just assuming that WE have to work things out.
