We used to have a sink in the dressing room that wasn't connected to the water.  Some guy asked me what it was....I said it was the Godot sink - turn it on and see what happens.

He turned the tap and waited and waited and waited.....and I had to explain it to him.....he never did laugh.

UPS arrived at 5:30.  That's 2-6 hours later than he generally shows up. And it was a different driver.

Well, that explains it!

Thanks DR CILLA LIZ.  There is a Retro  Type microwave that I really liked.....with dials instead of push buttons....but it wasn't quite the right size for my kitchen.

I've seen those. My red one is the same as yours

Defense objection during closing statement of the prosecutor....these clowns are shameless.

I used to love to do that.  There was a prosecutor I knew who got really rattled when I objected during his close.  Of course it was always objectionable, but it was still fun

I didn't believe in the death penalty either until I listened to this defendant and her incompetent blow hard lying attorneys including right this minute trying to save her.  I would vote for the DP for her.

Cillaliz, do you think her lawyers are incompetent?

I haven't watched any of the trial.

I don't think they are  incompetent...the bar is pretty low for competence...you can be asleep and still be competent, but I disagree with a lot of what I'm hearing.  I didn't watch yesterday and haven't heard the grounds for all their motions to withdraw.   I thought Jodi actually did a pretty good job today.  Better than her lawyers have done for her in this phase.

I think that they should have been prepared for the cross examination of the experts.  I think the judge let Juan go way over the line on his demeanor and they did object and objet about that.  They had no choice.  I never would have spent days and days on the sexual details, that was uncalled for and didn't do any good. They left Jodi on the stand way too long, etc.  The idea is to put into evidence what you need and not a whole lot more, then tie it all up in the end.  They didn't do that at all.

I think Jodi should do life without parole and what she did was terrible.  That being said, I can't imagine what it must feel like to have your attorneys file motion after motion to get off of your case.  They are supposed to be your champions and they don't even want to be there.  Unless there is some terrible ethical conflict, I think it's outrageous

We just have a few hours to wait - then we will know.  Her attorneys advised her on several matters and she ignored their advice - I don't think they have much reputation left....this would be their second co-client on Death Row....but they are doing what they can to distance themselves from her, I think.

George, I've asked about making the smaller avatars bigger.  I'm sending you and vixmom the link to the updated board right now - please nose around and make sure everything is as it should be.

I'm sure they are also wondering how she'll pay them. Now that she's guilty, if I'm right, she cannot be paid for her story, and their bill for defending her must be enormous.

BK, I don't see any "reply" or "quote" buttons on the test page!

I also noticed that under "Modify Profile," there are two options that people might need to reset...they're checked in my profile in the current board, but not in the new board:  "Return to topics after posting by default" and "Don't warn on new replies made while posting."  I think that these are good things to have checked. :)

In the same place, there's a new option, "Messages to display per page:" and then the "forum default (30)" is at the top of the drop-down box.  The other choices are 5, 10, 25 and 50.  That will affect the page count on each day for each person, depending on if they choose to change that.  I wonder if that should be changeable.

At this point, nothing is in the calendar.  Will we have to manually add all that back or will that be fixed?

I am laid up. Yesterday, I was arising from a little nap on the sofa when my left leg wouldn't hold my weight and I took a tumble. I tried to catch myself, which of course meant that I now have a sprained wrist in addition to a sprained ankle. I'm confident that nothing is broken, but my ankle sure is swollen. I thought about going to an urgent care center, but aside from an X-ray there is little they can do and I don't want to have to hobble a long way or sit around, waiting, for an hour or more. So I am iced and bandaged, taking aspirin and MSM (a natural anti-inflammatory) and Arnica. I don't feel like moving from this sofa, which of course is how this happened in the first place.

My neighbor downstairs brought me ice yesterday, as I had none on hand, and the gardner came upstairs to pick up my garbage so I wouldn't have to navigate the stairs.

All is improving, and I can now even type a bit using my left hand.
