In other news, Richard taught me last night to stream movies from our Netflix to my iPad.  I watched THE KING's SPEECH.

Oy! I've been kicking up dirt again on Cast Recording List and now I'm getting thrashed for throwing rocks. I hate that.

And the new book will be available for preorder by the time you finish reading this.  This is always a happy moment.

Adriana Hofstetter is back and still marching to the beat of her own sixteen-year-old band. When Hollywood High School puts on a production of The Music Man, Adriana is there doing a story for the school paper. But when Bethany Miller, a student and cast member who has an unhealthy addiction to Instagram, doesn’t come home from school and remains missing, Adriana goes on the hunt to find out what happened.

Talking to irritating students, baffled teachers, and doubting detectives, Adriana is having no luck piecing anything together. With each passing day looking worse for Bethany Miller, Adriana must use all her wiles in trying to solve what happened. And then she receives a note, a one-word note: Stop. And then another threatening note is left on her apartment door. Can Adriana find the culprit before the culprit comes after her?

Of course, best friend Billy Feldman is there to lend his support while playing one of the leads in The Music Man, mother Margaret is there to keep her eye on Adriana while listening to her loud, classic rock-and-roll, and Detectives Ramirez and Coyne are there to listen to and question what Adriana discovers.

With colorful depictions of Hollywood, Adriana’s trademark sense of humor, and a crime to be solved, Murder at The Music Man is funny, suspenseful, and a cautionary tale of addiction to social media.

Lower priced hardcover (a couple bucks cheaper than it will be elsewhere on line) is $25 plus $6 priority shipping - books ordered through Kritzerland will, of course, be signed by the author and as always there will be a little special something included.

Has anybody here ever used a white noise machine?

I had never heard of this before last week.  I am a pretty light sleeper and anything will wake me. And I am easily disturbed when trying to read (need complete silence if possible).

I know DR Elmore is easily disturbed by his neighbors (have you ever heard of these machines?)

Anyhow apparently there are a lot of different models. Many of them also have other nature noise options. But I got one that only does white noise and does not loop. IT's just a constant sound (like a semi-loud fan).  I just got it so I need more time to investigate. But when I put it on in my room and then put the tv on loud in another room I could not hear the tv.  I am very excited to try this overnight. I was just curious if these things are common knowledge.

Many years ago, I bough stock in one of these white noise companies.  Lost about $5K.

Bruce I like the change in the title.  Will I be able to get the book for my Nook?

Yes, I think it takes a couple of extra weeks for the e reader versions, but it will definitely be available on all those devices.

I always think it's good to read a series in order, but no, you can read any which way - there are recurring characters, but you find they're not hard to figure out from book to book.

Great.  I'm sure you will let me know when I can get it.  I still find it odd getting eBooks instead of one I can old.  I get over it quickly while enjoying the comfort of reading on my Nook.

Listening to a new master for the release that follows our next release - this one's an astonishing three scores on two CDs - real value for money, that's all I can say.

Well, I'm leaving work early...because I want to.  I just realized that I haven't had anything...and I mean ANYTHING to eat today!  I've just been working away.  But I'm hungry, so I'm off.

Be back later!

Nice Employee Appreciation Party, Ron Pulliam. Sandra's company had a Cinco de Mayo employee appreciation day today. Although it seems that the peons brought all the food, and it pretty much was scheduled so that they would be out in the field during the party, and the suits got to eat all the food.

Actually, I enjoyed it.  I used my earbuds - don't think the sound would be very good through the speakers.

Just finished "Babes on Broadway." Mickey and Judy in blackface. Wow. That Busby Berkeley sure liked his minstrel show routines.

I am sorry you all will see how fat I've gotten.  I really do need to do something about it.

they will be starting on the septic tank next Tuesday.

In other news, today is Sheena's 9th birthday!  Toby and Sheena got a hamburger from McD's.

Great story, Ron, and congratulations on making the employees feel appreciated, something that doesn't always happen on Employee Appreciation Day.

That was foremost in all our thoughts when planning the event.  There's not much "appreciation" in $2.50 per person, but then we are "County" employees.  For the first time in my experience, appreciation was expressed.

Yeah, well, perhaps someone could clue in the suits Laura mentioned.
