It was nice to spend the day with the family.   I'm trying to get up to see my parents at least once a month and have been successful for the past 4-5 months now.  Even though I talk to mom every day, it's nice to see them

I did listen to church on the radio on my way to see mom and dad.   I aslo heard part of the Messiah while seeing light streaming through the clouds.  It was beautiful and inspirational

Yes, my sister's name is Catherine, nickname: Cathy until she was in her late 20's when she decided she liked Kate better.   I believe Kate Middleton's name is also Catherine!

Your sister is married to Prince William?

Hi Everyone:

I'm excited to be a new member.  As you know my brother Kevin introduced me to this forum.
I'm interested in old movies, classic books and most music.

Happy Easter to everyone.  Soon I'll be heading out for an Easter Brunch with Kevin and family.

Kate.
Welcome, Kate. Look forward to getting to know you.

The track pad has spazzed out twice today.  I checked preferences and it's correct - if it happens again, I'll call Apple Care tomorrow.

Earlier today I purchased Better Nate Than Ever for my reader. I'm now charging the reader. Wi-Fi eats up the power.
I enjoyed that a lot. It'll be interesting to read what you think of it.

I have the book here, although I don't know why - I don't read fiction anymore, much as I'm tempted to occasionally.  But I glanced at the first line of the book (first lines are a passion of mine) and I thought it would not have come out of a twelve-year-old boy's mouth.  But I hear it's very good.  I will get my once removed cousin's two books - I think they're both non-fiction.

Do they do live streaming of the services online. It's not the same, but I have used ours on Sundays when I have been under the weather.

Welcome, Kate!   We are very happy to have you join our group.  Do you have any pets?  What is your favorite kind of cookie?  Do you like Streisand?  Do you like Brent Barrett?
Yes, we have an adorable , sweet-natured beagle-terrier mix named Sadie.  We adopted her from a rescue center.

Favorite cookie:  Peanut butter cookies made with Bisquick.

I hope you will share photos of Sadie with us.

I've never heard of peanut butter cookies made with Bisquick.  It sounds interesting.  For years I avoided Bisquick because it contained animal fat but they have removed that along with palm oil. :)

Is that oil made out of people's palms?

And Hello, Dolly! the wretched and misbegotten production I saw last week gets not a rave but certainly a pass from the Washington Post - are these people just afraid to take on this director and his productions?  Because I've just lost what sliver of respect I had for Peter Marks.  You can read through this and see just how misbegotten it is.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/theater_dance/a-new-dolly-in-dancing-trim/2013/03/31/1b7899a8-9a2e-11e2-9219-51eb8387e8f1_story.html
Sounds like he's trying to be kind to a high school production. And no matter what he says, the production still sounds terrible. But where, other than the tradition of casting, is Dolly referred to as a yenta? Her name is Gallagher Levi, and the Gallagher sounds more Irish.

Very long day. Sunrise service, then the rest of the day was getting ready for dinner.

I managed to get the house in some sense of order, though the vacuum stopped working in the middle of cleaning. The filter needed to be rinsed and dried and that put off the floors for a few hours.

In the meantime, I got all of the food together for the appetizers that I was doing: cheeses, plenty of relishes, veggies, sardines, etc. Surprisingly, the big hit was the plate of raw radish ravioli stuffed with goat cheese and toasted pine nuts.

People also enjoyed the loquat pie and the the baked egg dishes I made with serrano ham, goat cheese, artichoke hearts and spinach.

I used a Jello mix - and instead of making one pie  I made 36 mini cupcake  size cheesecakes - for one dozen of them I put a layer of carmel on the crust before  adding the cheese cake filling  then  drizzled a little carmel on top and a few slivered almonds

for the 2nd dozen a put a layer of strawberry jam on the crust before adding the filling and then topped them with half a strawberry

the last dozen I left plain but topped with a fresh blackberry

they came out well and looked pretty -

I have no idea what I was going to say!

No the church is pretty much wheelchair accessible, but the problem is the parking.  There are only a couple of handicap spots and a heck of a lot of old people.

Do the correct people at the church know why you can't attend?

Actually, I don't even know the new minister.  Our former minister "retired" quite suddenly.

I suspect the new minister may not know of you then -  I would suggest you call the church office and explain you r situation -  if he is worth his cloth he will find a way of helping you

Actually, it would be her cloth.

Nope, they have become rather backward.  When I was in high school, I was in charge of the raido broadcast every week;
