Very difficult work session with a very unprepared music director - first time this has happened, but he really shouldn't have committed to our show - he has too much on his plate.  He's had the music since March 7, a full month ahead - I'm never that far ahead - and he's had the tracks to listen to for tempo, feel, and in certain cases arrangements, but he hasn't listened to any of them, nor has he looked at the music once.  He couldn't even play today, and any little arranging I attempted took forever.  I'm hoping he will do what he needs to do over the weekend to be prepared for Monday, but I am not confident at all.

And let me just say this while I'm in this foul and fowl mood - if we're not off this damn page in one hour and well off of it, I'm shutting the topic down and maybe it's just time to shut the whole damn thing down save for my notes.  This used to feel like a real family here, with tons of posts, fun, informative, and it's like this is now drudgery for people to come here and post.  If Facebook is everyone's new home as it appears to be, so be it .

I think my hip is actually improving.  It didn't keep me awake last night, reading did but not my hip.

Yikes!

DITTO!!!

Seriously.

Envisioning showing up at any kind of a session like that, so unprepared, is enough to inspire ... well, a gastrological event, for starters.

I  was sure I'd hear from everyone I contacted this morning and . . . only Patrick Mellen and Kyle Guglielmo have responded.

I've been reading the new issue of The Sondheim Review; too many rounds of "isn't Sondheim a god?," but the interview with Jonathan Tunick was really fun.

I need to get my hands on the DVD of the North Carolina School of the Arts and  watch Kyle in OKLAHOMA! He's one of the best things about it. The Aunt Eller is terrible, and she's on the acting faculty! I think it's with a bunch of other bootlegs.

Watching Bewitched on ME TV.  A very young Maureen McCormick of Brady Bunch fame is playing Endora (it seems she changed herself into a child trick-or-treater on Halloween).

Wishing I was back in Cozumel until I was reminded by this pic how windy the first day was and the horrible ferry ride over.

That was the view from our balcony.  I seem to be missing a couple of other photos I took from the balcony.

There was a bar under the roof.  I'm not sure if that was why they liked it there.  I never saw them on the ground and there weren't any walls around the bar.

Great pics, DR Jane.

I've been in Cozumel only once, for a couple of weeks around Christmas/New Year's 1980, and it was just perfect.

It's a wonderful production: original deMille choreography, wonderful orchestra, and some good performances; I remember liking Kyle as Curly, the Ado Annie, and the Will Parker.

We are settled into our Lima hotel after a smooth drive from Middletown, a nice Maundy Thursday service, and a fun dinner with Bill & Jill and their son Mike.  Watching Ohio State trying to make the Elite Eight.  They trail by 4 at halftime.

Thursday morning greetings!  Getting ready to head to Lima for the Triduum Sacrum - Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday - during which Fr. Richard will conduct services and I will knit, watch basketball, and spend as much time as I can online.  We will be home after the Easter Sunday service.

DR Ginny since all of these activities are not done in church does this mean you won't be attending to all of his services?

You didn't mention reading a good book.  I'm surprised.

DR Jane, of course I have a good book - Sometimes Mine by Martha Moody, a Dayton physician turned novelist who's speaking at our author luncheon at the end of April.

And, yes, I'll attend tonight and tomorrow, but I told Fr. Richard that he could go to Saturday's Silence in the Cathedral and I'd do Knitting in the Fairfield Inn.

Thanks.  There were a couple of more sitting on my desktop and now they are gone.  I'm wondering if they are the blank pics sitting there that I can't open, why that would be I haven't a clue.

I read what it is about and hope you like it.  I haven't been to an author luncheon in years.  They were always fun and I always read at least one book by the author.
