Friday morning greetings!  Sunny and c-c-cold here in SW Ohio - our outside thermometer says 8 degrees.

I made the mistake of watching a new episode of TWO AND HALF MEN last night.  Ashton Kutcher is really bad.....REALLY BAD....and they have brought in a couple of other guys - only one of whom is helping.....  Why is this show still on?

TOD:

DVD - the 1958 A FAREWELL TO ARMS that has some terrific Italian locations on the plus side.....on the down side....Mercedes McCambridge playing one of her one-note, annoying, plot device characters.....as only she can.  As ONLY she can....and always does.

DR VIXMOM - this is the ION Tailgater.....it acts as a PA system, you can hook up your IPOD or MP3 player or even a CD player.  It has its own microphone and also a connection for a guitar.  It's small and powerful.  Runs on current or 12 hours on battery.  NOT a professional solution, but fine for schools and churches or dance instruction.  And I got mine on EBAY for about $90.

I have suffered through a few episodes. It's like a car wreck that you can't stop watching. My jaw drops and I think "this can't get any worse" and then it does! I am by no means a prude, but this show brings a whole new definition to Vulgar. It wasn't that good when Charlie Sheen was on but now it's sunk through the bottom of the barrel and sits at the bottom of a fetid swamp.

There's a guy here who bills himself a one-man band who uses a machine like this.  Apparently, he has recorded all his own accompaniments and then, live, he sings along or plays an instrument.  He's very popular on the senior center circuit and he was the holiday entertainment for AAUW this season.  I don't need to hear him again...

I've meant to ask this for the longest time:

Does anyone else ever log in via smartphone and have the site remember your password ... and remember it correctly?  Mine shows the asterisks, but rarely does HHW accept whatever's there as correct, and I have to reenter it manually.  But once every several times, it'll work.  Bizarre.

Long missing Jose used to log in from remote and mobile locations all the time. I don't know if he ever had his phone remember the password, though.

I'm stuck at desktops and laptops. I did try logging in with my Sony e-Reader a couple of years ago when I first got it, but it's way too klunky so I've never done it again.

TOD:

We recorded THE ACTRESS with Spencer Tracy yesterday off of TMC.  I've never seen it, so that's what we'll probably watch today or tomorrow.

We watched the HBO version of MILDRED PIERCE this week.  Great performances by Kate Winslet, Guy Peerce and the rest of the cast, but I like the Joan Crawford version better.

Today is Victor Herbert's birthday, too. You should all listen to your favorite Victor Herbert song. Since I do not know how to post an mnp3 file here, I cannot send you all mine, "Barney O'Flynn" from BABES IN TOYLAND.
