I had a loverly time with Charlotte, and we both loved GUILT TRIP; I laughed, I cried. It's a delightful movie and Streisand and Rogan work quite well together. She's ideal casting, and I'm not a big fan. She's quite wonderful here.

I'm looking forward to seeing this.  Thanks for the report and I'm happy to see you & Charlotte had a good time at your movie night.

No plans for today.  It's bright and sunny out but also very cold and windy.  I think I'll venture out and just go wherever my fancy takes me.

How long have you and your fancy been dating?

It's been on and off for years.  But my fancy was in a generous mood today--he took me to Best Buy and bought me a new Blu Ray player.

Your my fancy is very generous to you! ;) I think I need to find my own my fancy.  I am actually thinking about getting a new Blu-ray player.

Actually what I want is a new region-code free DVD player.  For about a month or so, I haven't been able to play ANYTHING on mine...not even US releases.  I thought that it might be that the region code setting somehow got screwed up, but I don't know what could've happened.  Anyway, I was looking on eBay and there are several Blu-ray players that are listed as all-regions for both the Blu-ray AND the DVD!  And several are also under $200.  I think that if I get one of those, I can give my parents my current Blu-ray player (since they now have a hi-def TV) and probably just throw away my DVD player.  I've certainly gotten my money's worth out of it.

When we got our Blu-ray player I forgot to ask Keith about the regional thing.  Oh well, too late now & I don't expect to need that too often.  Heck, we have enough problems just finding the Blu-ray DVD's available to rent.

Happy Last Friday of 2012!

Have waited all day for the postman (or postmistress) to deliver my "held mail" which was scheduled to be delivered to me today.

Where is it is what I want to know.  It's after 5 p.m.   Have sat here ALL DAY because I didn't want to miss it.

Shucks!

Our mail finally arrived at the normal time today.  DR Ron did your neighbors receive mail?  If not it sounds like you didn't get reactivated.

I'm happy to say my luggage has been delivered (it didn't make it on my flight yesterday).

Shouldn't I get a refund of the $25 I paid?

I would hope so!  I certainly wouldn't hurt to ask...or demand...a refund. ;)

95 1/2!!!  I expect Paul also knows how very lucky he was/is.  Once he get through this difficult time I send vibes this will be a comfort to him.
He knows, but it's still hard

I had been waiting several days for a call back from the doctor's office.  I'm glad I called today as on the 26th they left a message on a voice mail, who's I have no idea just that it wasn't ours.  Now my appointment won't happen until after the 31st which means it won't be covered under this years deductible.

Loved Les Miz today.  I really think the criticism of Russell Crow is overblown.

Yes it will help.  He is already saying she had a good life etc.  But he's lived with her since his dad died in the mid 1990s so they were very close

a few years ago  Vixadad was looking at snow blower  but wasn't  sure he wanted to plunk down $600 + for one -  I said it was cheaper than a  heart attack and convinced him to buy it -  I am glad he did

DR Jane, a lot of people have heart attacks when shoveling.

I know and I've read, numerous times, most of those of men who are out of shape & not used to strenuous work.  I could be reading info that isn't accurate & Keith could have a heart attack while shoveling, but I believe the odds are against it happening.   Keith is in far better shape than in his youth.

That is really hard.  The closer we are to those we love the harder it is when they are gone.

Yup though some shoveling is usually required.  I doubt I could work a snow blower with this shoulder.

Well, I'm off to the theater for some ushering.  I'm sure that I'll have a rollicking good time. :)

Be back later!

It's time for the big push to win the Broadway World Best Special Theatre Event Award - only three days of voting left - please tell all your friends to vote asap - and if you haven't, really, don't make me bitch-slap you from here to eternity and hell and back, just do it.  It only takes a moment, as Jerry Herman said.  You just register your e-mail address and then you only have to vote in our category.  We're currently being trounced by a show that had a cast of thirty, and a group that has membership in the hundreds - hard to fight that, but we must fight the good fight and get the little guy to win.  We can do it if we all pull together and vote, vote, vote (that is three votes, although we'll need a lot more than that).  Spread the word, word the spread, won't you?

I have been informed that I have already voted.

I have more than one e-mail address.

;)
I do, too.

Got "Beasts of the Southern Wild" on tonight. I had not read anything about the movie, on purpose, but I know the reviews were positive, especially for the little girl who is the lead. Already a few minutes into the picture and I can realize she's a wonder.

I'm glad you loved the movie.

I've read a lot of negative remarks about his performance and I thought he would be really bad. I thought he was very good, actually
