DR Ginny I read your past posts to see how Richard's surgery went.  I am pleased to see it went well.  Vibes he is soon running in the basement with you.

Thank you, DR Jane!  He's doing very well.

We watched Broadway Melody of 1940.

There was a feature with Ann Miller about the movie and Cole Porter. It was fun to watch.

There was a TERRIBLE (IMHO) Our Gang short called The Big Premiere. A (very) young Robert Blake was in the cast. I was never a fan of The Little Rascals or Our Gang (is anyone surprised?).

You have always disliked those that were shorter than you

I could keep on watching "Boardwalk" all night. But I'm fading. So, good night, all.

The MGM Our Gang shorts are some of the worst things ever......

And when Darla left and Janet came in.....whew....that charmless creature with her too short dresses was just irritating to watch....and Spanky and Alfalfa began to wear on the nerves as well....

And Bobby Blake was always CRYING about something.....ugh

you steams your cauliflower

you butter a pie plate

you put the steamed cauliflower in the casserole dish
'
you melt butter into the cauliflower'

you take  a quart of sour cream and mix in in with the cauliflower leaving alittle  to "ice" the top

sprinkle with seasoned breadcrumbs

dot with butter

bake in oven at 375 until  top is bubbly and brown

don't share

Hey, isn't that the same recipe as the egg noodles?

Possible T.O.D. (Topic of Discussion, not Topic of the Day)

It is Thanksgiving Day, you are at some familiar place for dinner.  It can be  your childhood home, a relative's home, or maybe even your current home.  Wherever you are all the food sitting on the table is perfect (mom, for once, did not burn the mashed potatoes).  Suddenly time freezes for everyone in the house, but you.  You are now free to sit down and pig out on one item on the Thanksgiving table, with no guilt, no repercussions, and no calories.

What is the one dish you pig out on?

Just like Laura, I would sit down to a bowl of stuffing, preferably my mother's, cooked as God intended inside the bird.  How did we ever survive to adulthood?  Stuffing cooked in the bird, the meat left on the carcass.  I should have died before I was 18.  Thanksgiving has always had fond memories for me.  Hard to believe that my sister and I were raised in the same house.  She hates Thanksgiving.

I had such a nice day today I felt it was my birthday.

Hopefully your birthday isn't the only good day you have all year.

I love my DVR.  Talked my brother into getting one and they love it too.  The funny thing is I hadn't even read people on the board talking about DVRs and I had a conversation with my mom about getting one tonight.  She says my dad doesn't know how to record anything anymore.  Well, i don't think they even have a VCR anymore, so I'm going to see about getting them a DVR through their cable co.  they can set their favorites and not even have to think about it

Thanks to those who answered my Possible T.O.D.  I thought it might help to have some topic to bat around.  But it didn't seem to help, since we were still on page two this afternoon.  Oh well, I tried.  Maybe once OUTSIDE THE BOX becomes the internet sensation it deserves to be, we will have lots of people begging to be able to post at Bruce's site.

Cilla, good to see you here.  I suppose I should get one of those DVRs, but I really don't watch very much TV anymore, except for sports.

I was talking to an old friend in Arizona (Sun City) tonight, and he wondered why in the heck I wanted a 50 inch TV, if all I like to watch is sports.  I told him that with the 32 inch TV I can't quite see the players' underwear; so I need to try a larger set.

Oh they are good. I'll post the actual recipe if anyone wants it.  It's just cracker crumbs, butter, milk and oysters. with some salt and pepper. You butter the casserole dish, layer the cracker crumbs then oysters then pour some melted butter on it (not too much) then keep layering till the oysters are gone and the top layer is cracker crumbs.  Then you pour milk until it's just even with the top layer.  They you let it set in the refrigerator for a few hours to soak it all up, then take it out of the refrigerator and let it sit until the casserole dish isnt' too cold for the oven.  they you bake at 350 till it's done. Can't remember how long.  It's from my grandmother's recipe and she wasn't real specific about it.  I can look tomorrow to see if we figured it out
