Today is going to be a busy day at work.  They've finally finalized the three candidates for live interviews for the position of the library's executive director and today, the three will be touring the Service Center (where I work) and tonight there will be a public forum.  The best part is that it can be on work time!  Tomorrow, there will be public forums at a couple of the library branches.  The audience won't get to answer ask* questions, like they did last go-around, but prearranged questions will be asked of them.  I don't know when the actual interviews will take place (I think I'd heard Saturday), but this director search been a long time coming.  Hopefully, this time we can get someone we like and who'll be good at the job.

*updated:

George, I think this is your moment to stage a coup!

TOD:

For me, a very memorable ad campaign was this one:

When that movie came out I was just a little kid. The television trailer for it scared me so much that to this day I have not yet seen the film...although from what I understand, if the film is anything it is definitely not scary  ;D

Yes, it was not the best of movies, but the poster was.

MBarnum, I love that poster.

And the tagline for the sequel: "The It's Alive baby is back, only now there are three of them!"

Grammarians across the country were screaming in horror at that sentence structure.  ;D

and speaking of trailers...this trailer, which would show on television whenever the movie was going to air on the late-night Creature Features, absolutely scared the bejeebers out of me every time when I was a little kid!

TOD

The campaign which I remember so well was PSYCHO. It was brilliantly original in making use of the director to tell people they won't be admitted after the film has started. It was also revolutionary because at that time it was routine for audiences to wander in and out of theaters without regard to the timing of the film (my family and I did that all the time - "this is where we came in") and it did much to change audience habits.

You are right, Doug.  Now I remember wandering in to the theater at whatever time I wanted, knowing I could just stay and watch the bginning again.  What a weird way to watch movies!

It's been moving along fine for me so far, DR Druxy.

I might have to rethink my statement on snowfall.  Our official measurement is reported to be 9.9 inches!

Just like a man to have four inches and call it 9.9.

I had forgotten that the movie was only rated PG. That says something about how creepy it managed to be without being gross.

I swear, there is a ghost in Toyland. I've lost the first three pages of a song and I cannot find them anywhere. I had them at 9:30 and I've been looking for them fo over an hour.

Check the coffee pot.
