I miss lobby cards. Do they make them anymore? I always like them because sometimes they had a scene that was cut out of the final film.

I really miss lobby cards!  Not to mention black and white 8x10s, color 8x10s (I have a few Hitchcocks), and the various sizes and shapes of posters necessitating different but thematically similar layouts.  And of course the artwork itself.  That's all gone now.  They all look alike, as though churned out of some great spewing machine, and there's no art anyway.

Several of the stores here sell lobby cards for Mexican films. Some of them are quite wonderful, and yet I have never picked up one up. I may have to rethink that.

well about four inches of heavy wet snow outside - the Vixter kindly cleared the driveway and car for Vixdad who had to brave the LIRR and attempt to go to work
Glad Vixdad made it home OK enough to turn around and do it again.

Hope you feel better soon.

It's nice to hear there's still some art to the marketing of movies in Mexico, DR John G.

Or did you mean lobby cards for VINTAGE Mexcian films??  In which case, you'd better find a few you like and take 'em home.

BK,

We watched MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE a few months ago and, although I wasn't crazy about the ending, I did like the overall film much more than you did.

In fact, we went back and watched the ending again...just to be sure we understood what was happening.

It's been moving along fine for me so far, DR Druxy.

I might have to rethink my statement on snowfall.  Our official measurement is reported to be 9.9 inches!

Thursday morning greetings!  I have survived the prep and am now ready for the main event.  I want drugs, a sandwich, and to sleep for about 17 hours.  Oh, and a clean report...

The worst is behind you, DR Ginny!    :o    You'll be fine!  :)

Really, the prep is the only actual pain in the annoyance about the whole affair.

Okay, I think I've exhausted my morning's supply of one-liners about our favorite "procedure".

Time to throw some clothes on and see what needs to be done with a snow shovel.

To answer DR vixmom's question last night:  Yes, I have a snow blower, and a very kind neighbor who does the plowing for free (that in itself is a godsend).  I think this stuff is too slushy for the blower to pick up, and I haven't even run it yet this year.  Fortunately, there isn't that much of it left on the areas that need to be cleared, so I'll pick at it with the shovel.

These are vintage cards. They have them by the hundreds.

Yes, I know, DR ChasSmith.  This is not my first time for this, but I'm about 2 years overdue.  In 2006 or so, my late aunt was scheduled for this procedure and because I was not yet retired my wonderful husband was designated as her driver/companion.  Shortly after I got to work he called me and said she'd just called him (and the surgery center) to cancel because she was so wiped out from the prep.  Took a lot of talking to convince her that that was the worst part before she'd reschedule.  The center now charges a $40 cancellation fee that I think they established in her honor.

Have fun playing in the snow!

The photographs in the LIAMST booklet are fabulous....and the sound is FANTASTIC.....what a beautiful score.  SEVEN YEAR ITCH is also most enjoyable....

I enjoyed the liner notes for both.....although there is a typo in the LOVE notes.....BUT.....if you haven't ordered this CD yet.....what are you waiting for?????
